This morning's announcement concerning the acquisition of h2g2 by people who genuinely care about the site and 'understand' us takes a hugh worry away from a lot of us. Those members of the community who worked so long and diligently to secure this partnership are to be applauded. I especially want to thank Z and Ben for promoting a proactive approach rather than sitting around whining and waiting for someone else to determine our future. This partnersip that they helped broker is truly the site's salvation.
I also want to thank the BBC for keeping us together all these years. 
We're often a scrappy, contrary bunch, but they accomodated us and our quirks as much as they could.

I met the third party in this at the last London meet (not knowing who they were). They are very nice people, and it's really great to be in such good hands.

Robbie's asked me to post to say that he's delighted to be home as well. He's overseas and can't post but is delighted that he's coming home to h2g2.

It is so good. It will be so good to be h2g2.com (or equivalent) again. I'll thank BBC corporate for h2's survival, but not for anything else.
Is this the one thing to thank the Bankers for? What a thought - among all the upheaval created is this one little piece of good news.
