Somehow I always wind up talking about vacuums, movies, tunes, cookware, or cat puke. Kinda boring, aren't I?

He's a good kitteh. I'll have to get some more footage and upload to YouTube. He's only got the three little clips there. Too bad you can't meet him in person any time soon- he'd love you.
The daily quibbles certainly add up, though, to a great adventure, don't they?
Speaking of adventures, my dad's supposed to come visit sometime soon, so I've been cordially speaking to my mother, just long enough to stay on her good side and get him to haul all my stuff from their place to mine. Then I'll have several hundred stuffed animals and a shitload of Smurf paraphernalia to contend with. I'd love to get all those Smurfs on display and/or put to good use... and see which of the six drinking glasses my niece broke and find a replacement on eBay.
Not only am I boring, but I'm also a dork.

I look forward to hearing more of the adventures of Herman. Good luck with the folks... I know your Dad is the good guy, that'll help I hope. What sort of drinking glasses are we talking about?
Candy & Angel send their love.

Cute glasses. I bet they'll be get-hold-ofable.
Tom & I are watching Thank You For Smoking in a bit.

What a gorgeous creature. Herman wins the internet
Love the chair too, I want one like that. Groovy bin aswell.

That chair belonged to one of K's uncles when we were just kids! Our couch was his parents' first one, and our other chair was his dad's. I much prefer decent, second-hand furniture to the cheap shit they sell nowadays, and at least with hand-me-downs, you know you won't have to fumigate.
The wastebasket I found at the Container Store (if there is a heaven, for someone like me, it's the Container Store ); it was made in Thailand of a kind of papier-mache done with Japanese magazines. It was a bit pricey for a bin- maybe $20- but it's way cool and I just *had* to have it... you know.

Meanwhile, Herman's quite flattered by your compliment. He really is sweet, when he's not being stupid, or a pain.
Are you a fan of Jan Svankmajer at all? I'm a huge fan, and wondered if I should stick something of his in your parcel. Just got myself a copy of his "Alice" (in Wonderland) and also Werner Herzog's "Aguirre" and Todd Solondz's "Happiness". All first-rate stuff.

Never heard of Jan Svankmajer before, but his wiki write-up definitely intrigues me. I do love leftfield animations, would be interested to see some.
I saw Aguirre at the boot sale last week, another one I missed. Settled for Fargo this afternoon, in keeping with the weather (18ÂșC yesterday, freezing snow today). Oh and Thank You For Smoking was hilarious, I can definitely recommend that.

I can manage some Svankmajer for you... and if you enjoy, I can see to it that you get more. He's got some really cool shorts, a version of "Faust", and another one I don't have yet called "Little Otik".
I liked "Fargo". Haven't seen "...Smoking", but will add it to the queue. I wonder if it's based on the book I used to have?

OK, and the book was OK (he also had one called "Little Green Men" that was OK, IIRC). I'll give the DVD a whirl.

Awww. How cute.
You doing OK? Saw your recent journal- this must be tough for you, but it takes a strong person to nip a serious problem in the bud. If you want to talk about it, email works. If not, I won't pry.

Thanks for the offer, it's okay though. Not much to add really, I've been feeling a bit sorry for myself is all. I'll deal.

OK. I was concerned- hate to see friends beating themselves up and abusing their bodies. Hang in there.
