There was an episode of Doctor Who free with a paper this morning, I'll send it over to you sometime soon.

I've got "Enter the Dragon"; it's definitely worth having when available for a few bucks. I found a copy of "The Happiness of the Katakuris" on eBay recently, which is nice, because I wasn't able to get one before for one reason or another, and now it's out of print. I suppose I could've rented it from Odd Obsessions or something, but I think I enjoyed it enough to warrant owning it.
Thanks in advance for the Dr Who episode. That'll be fun.

You probably don't want to hear I saw a copy of that movie the other day then.
I had a go at sampling all the fight sounds and "whaaaaa!" noises from Enter The Dragon to make into a rhythm track, but it turned out dreadful.

Oh, that's OK. I only paid $11 for it, no biggie. That'll teach me not to ask someone if they've seen something I'm having trouble finding, though.
Surely those sounds can be sampled into something useful? Sounds like an entertaining project, anyway.
I've been too busy amusing myself with the vacuum to make any headway on my audio/ video projects. I probably won't be vacuuming much this weekend, though. I pulled a muscle in my shoulder vacuuming the kitchen ceiling on Sunday.

Martial arts samples are pretty passé, to be honest. They've always been conflated with Hip-Hop Skills. My style is the best, 5 fingers of death and all that.
Hoovers, on the other hand...

I promise not to sample any hoovering sounds and email them to you.

Just watched the Who episode, it's a good'un. The ones where they introduce a new sidekick always are... what better way to pitch the box set.

I'm working on getting a "surprise" (not really a surprise, when it's something you asked for, but maybe you've forgotten ) ready before I ship the parcel. Which means Ed and Terri have to wait, too. Terri's asafoetida is stinking up my entire foyer.
Any special plans for the weekend? Tomorrow's not a holiday here, but my office closes early. After I'll have been here for over eight hours anyway, of course. But I might be able to sneak off earlier than that. Sunday we're going to see my Gram. She had corneal transplants last year, but she still doesn't see too well.

for your Gram. I have 4 days of hermetic indulgence planned, bar Simon's birthday on Sunday. The weather is abysmal to say the least, and I'm taking the opportunity to clean the flat, make some music of some description, perhaps even read some (I've only got as far as "Beast In The Cave).
Obviously I look forward to the parcel with much excitement.

would be the "surprise". All three seasons worth.
I'd found little somethings here and there for a few people, as you do, but Terri specifically requested some curry spices she can't find at home and I have extremely easy access to. Asafoetida smells like sewer gas in its powder form, but smells and tastes like heaven when it's added to a nice curry sauce. It's amazing how the foul stench seeps right out of the container. I've got mine sealed inside three separate plastic containers *and* a ziploc bag, out on my back porch.

Well rather you than me. I used to work on a deli counter, they had this stuff called Spanish Valdeon. Festival Toilet more like.
All three seasons?? \o/

I'm not a fan of stinky cheese. Fortunately, most European cheeses are a no-no for me anyway (rennet), so I manage to avoid the really ripe ones. I can't eat anything that smells like a laundry hamper. At least this stuff doesn't make you gag.

It seems pretty pricey around here. I never liked it to begin with, but don't eat it at all any more (rennet). There are some aged cheeses that smell like absolute ass, though. Edward's the one to ask- he apparently prefers his cheese to smell and taste like B.O.

Thought you might get a kick out of this, Stella Street. Loads of movie and rock stars (i.e 2 impressionists) decide to go and live on a single street in a leafy English suburb.

If you like it I'll try and find the series on DVD. I wouldn't bother with the movie though, which was really watered-down.

I'll try to check it out tomorrow morning- sounds interesting. Thanks for the links.
That Garth Marenghi is some seriously funny shit, BTW. I haven't seen K laugh that hard since I spilled all the cat food on the floor.

Good to know you enjoyed it so much. It hardly got noticed over here, I guess because it got buried in the listings. Hate to say it, but it might have been pitched over the heads of the modern British audience.
Just been watching Ghost World, very fun little movie. Gave me a mid-life crisis just watching it.
