Off to Paris in a week!
Posted Jun 27, 2002
Fantastic, except it means I won't be able to go on here.
To celebrate, here's my top 5 places to go in Paris:
1. The Stravinsky Fountain in Place Igor Stravinsky. It's near the Centre Pompidou and very wacky. The sculptress, Nikki de Saint Phalle, has a fantastic sculpture park in Italy that I'm longing to go to.
2. Sainte Chapelle. The prettiest church in Paris, downstairs looks breathtaking until you see upstairs...a must for anyone.
3.Ile de la Cite and Ile St Louis. Quaint little islands in the middle of the Seine with lovely little shops.
4.Galeries Lafayette. This famous department store has a breathtaking Bell Epoque stained glass dome. Well worth craning your neck for!
5. The metro. Some of the stations have really gone to town on the decor. Recommended, the Bastille, Louvre and Tuilleries. Someone needs to compile a book.
Is there anywhere you think would be good? Tell me here.

If any AQA workers are reading this look away now.

I gave you fair warning. This is me at the moment
Why? Put it this way, I am currently building an exclusive torture chamber for whoever wrote my moving and feeding paper. There was nothing, repeat NOTHING on teeth, human or dog, and nothing on how fish move, a substantial part of the syllabus. In fact, the only mention of fish was in the last question which was all about a model fish. This might seem fine, until you realise that it was all about the forces acting on the fish. This question was quite plainly Physics. The paper was part of Biology.
I rest my case. Needless to say, I am terrible on forces and, until I sat the paper, thought that Moving and Feeding would be the easiest. Hmph!!

What a day!

My sister joins h2g2 (that's GeorgeyGirl, see intro) and then while trying to make my personal page a bit more orderly and exciting I completely mess up. Thankfully not all h2g2 researchers are as silly as me and the new page is proudly displayed above(obviously!) thanks to their help. Because of all this I have had no time to think up any profound thoughts, except that if they build another skyscraper on top of ground zero I will be very annoyed. I think they should turn it into a big memorial park/garden and leave the two laser beams there permanently. Hope to see you, whoever you are, tomorrow, luv Pearl.

Updated intro

Slowly things are starting to come together. Tne next step: to add links to a couple of researchers I've met and to put a link to my sister's website. The story link will be in next Thursday's post. Best sign off in a minute. Why does no one ever discuss my jounal entries I wonder (actually, it's probably because they're a bit boring!)
