2 whole days.

After 2 days of being the aformentioned 'very happy loved up ', I'm now a miserable dumped singleton.
Great, well, why break the habit of a lifetime.

Finally, and it's happening to me...
Posted Jul 3, 2003
Cheesy lyric I know, but hey-ho.
Some of you may know that I had my first kiss yesterday.
All of you should be pleased to know that I am now...
NO LONGER SINGLE!!!
Ahem: (There's 42, of course)
This means 2 things: 1.I will no longer be depressed and constantly moaning about my lack of a love life.
2.Whenever anyone else moans about their love life, I will respond from the smug position of a very happy loved up .(sorry)

Intellectuality
Posted Jun 20, 2003
Not sure if that's a word, but it's an apt title.
I have a three thousand piece of coursework to do for my A Level English Literature. I'd like to compare the way Harper Lee's 'To Kill A Mocking Bird' and Stephen King's 'The Green Mile' make the reader sympathise with victims of rascism. I happen to think that King does this better, and that was the main reason for choosing these books. But 'The Green Mile' may not be considered 'intellectual' enough for the cheif examiner and his University colleagues, in which case I won't be able to contrast the books. In my opinion, 'The Green Mile' is an excellent book, and has the depth of a true classic. It is not fair to reject it simply because the writer is a modern bestseller, especially as his genre includes quite happily the likes of '1984', which the examiners have no problem with. Despite several wonderful essays on the Harry Potter books, and their increasing likelihod of being a classic of the future, in the manner of 'Lord of the Rings' etc, they are not allowed either. And yet 'Bridget Jone's Diary' sits quite happily on the suggested list. I have no problem with the book, or it being studied, but considering it is at heart 'chick-lit' I don't think it fair that an examiner should allow this to be termed intellectual yet ignore other fine examples of modern literature.

Moaning about exams
Posted Jun 5, 2003
Okay, so yesterday I did my first GCSE Maths exam, and it was okay, but whoever wrote the paper, steer clear, I'm planning on attatching the alternative segment theorem to a firework and shoving it where the sun don't shine.
Could someone please tell me what x and y equal if
y = x-7
and
x squared + y squared = 25
It's a simultaneous equation thing, and everytime I did it, I ended up having to find the square root of minus 12, and negative munbers don't have square roots.
So, you'd think todays GCSE English exam would have been fine, English is after all, a subject I'm very good at. But no, after starting 10 minutes late, the fire alarm went off 15 minutes in, so we had to evacuate the hall. Meaning that the exam had to be restarted half an hour late.
Still, no exams tomorrow, and a late start, which is good, because I'm not going to leave the theatre much before twenty to ten.

Guruing
Posted Jun 2, 2003
I've finally gone and applied to be a guru. Despite the fact that I have to make at least one mistake in Guide ML for a page to truly be my own. Now, I've subscribed to the Feedback forum page, because that seemed sensible, and I thought it was best to concentrate on answering questions about h2g2 itself. But if anyone has any tips on how to act like a guru, they'd be gratefully recieved. I'm not a guru yet, but I've nothing against acting like one if it helps people.
On a personal work level, the first Maths exam is Wednesday and I've done a considerable bit of revision, so that's okay. And can I say a big hello to all the new friends I've made over the past couple of weeks, it's been a real confidence booster. to you all (and of course the old faithfuls!)
