Life, The Universe and me as a h2g2 researcher ...

I first read 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy' long ago in the year 1998 (okay, not that long ago but when you're fifteen it's a reasonable portion of your life) and I loved every bit of it. The sheer humour, the intelligence and above all the style of writing. I always wondered if the guide could ever come to fruition on Earth and now I have an answer, and a very good one at that. I recently discovered the world of h2g2 from Douglas Adam's latest publication, 'The Salmon of Doubt' and popped along to look at the site (the tour was extremely helpful). I'm slowly getting acquainted with the weird but wonderful world of h2g2 and I am again loving every bit of it. I've still got a lot of exploring to do but I'm glad to be here, glad to be a researcher, glad to have the power to discover in full Douglas' dream of the guide, glad to be able to research life, the universe and everything ....

Hope to see you somewhere in the growing universe of h2g2, Mike.

Rest in peace Douglas, your writing talent is sorely missed by all.

Friday 7th June 2002.
