well, there are two emails for you - one is just light and (I think) funny, the other is a question that I thought better to ask not here. And probably the response, if you want to give one, would be better given not here too.

thanks.

hi there

Post 123

btw, I am enjoying this Pratchett book so much. I took it out with me when I went for breakfast at my favourite breakfast bar and at one point I burst out laughing (it's so clever and very well written). Happily the guys there are quite used to me by now so they just ignored me until I asked for another coffee.

Then my street pal (one-legged Miguel) showed up. I thought he was in prison but it turns out he now doesn't have to go to prison until January 5th. So I complained to him that he was going to fall two days short of being able to celebrate my birthday and, of course, bought him breakfast. Even though I could scarcely afford my own brekky and of course Miguel ordered the most expensive toast option on the menu! On the other hand, I have two legs and I'm not a heroin addict and, well, I do really like Miguel. So what the heck.

Then I came home and decorated my flat for Christmas. Since the landlords are away this weekend I couldn't borrow their ladder and since I am TOO SHORT I had to climb onto a chair and then onto a somewhat wobbly end table and stand on tippy-toes to hang up the fairy lights around my balcony door-windows. Now my fingernails are all in shreds from trying to get the light cords into the little clippy thingys I had hammered up there last year.

I assume you will be spending Christmas with your family? Also, I didn't realize that you lived with your family. I thought you had your own place but recently you mentioned something about living with your family. Your sister?

A bit complicated. The house belongs to me and one of my younger brothers, but he lives in London. One of my younger sisters and her son live here too, and so does my mother. There are also two other sisters, and two other brothers. Not sure who's going/coming for Christmas smiley - erm

For preference I'd spend it on my own.

You would really rather spend Christmas on your own? Why?

I've spent the last few mostly with the gatitos. Well, last year I made a nice dinner for a couple of friends. But it still didn't ever get to feeling 'Christmassy', you know what I mean? Which somehow made it all feel a bit sad. It ended up being just a very nice dinner, ho hum.

I used to make very special Christmas dinners for other 'orphans' here, but ended up with the same feeling. That they were only interested in a free meal. There was nothing Christmassy about it. Sigh.

I really love Christmas so much.

Well perhaps not. But there are certain members of the family who I could do with a break from. The others probably won't be here anyway.

A sweetie am I? smiley - blush

You *know* you are a sweetie! Though I guess it is nice to hear it said by someone else now and then.

Me? I am apparently some dipstick idiot person - according to Alji. smiley - erm

Well, what is probably actually *worse* and possibly very stupid is caring even a little bit about what some people who only exist on one's computer screen say or think about you.

So which is worse, Lorelei King or the Professor? (Not that either means anything to me, even after googling). Though toxx did use the description "didactic and authoritarian" smiley - smiley Which I can actually understand. It's just an exaggeration.

Sorry I took a little while replying; PCs being a bit temperemental today.

Did you listen to that horrible voice! It's not even close to mine. Okay, I cringe whenever I have to hear my own voice on the answer phone but that's cos . . . well, it's just so wimpy. But it's not . . . it isn't . . . oh never mind . . .

I'm just chatting with Roadkill on msn. Bloody Malaclypse gave him my address without permission! smiley - cross And after a bit of the usual I decided - what the heckity. I mean, if Roadkill had asked me for my msn address himself I would have given it to him. Anyhoodle, the usual Shawn/Jack 'fight'. smiley - biggrin No pasa nada.

I finished Night Watch (loved it!) and am now reading another of the Lindsey Davis series. But I'm sure I'll be finished tomorrow. After that, no more money and no more Visa credit to buy any more books. Dang!

Blues Shark has told me he is sending me the dvd of the Alistair Sim version of A Christmas Carol. smiley - somersault

Well anyhoodle, man-of-few-words . . . talk to you later.

TA!

Unfortunately I got "web page unavailable" when I tried to read it. I'll try again later.

I see you gave the folks on the Saddam/Bush thread a much needed ticking off for behaving like children. Hope it brings them to their senses.

Oh, did I make a total @ss of myself on the Saddam/Bush thread? I just got so fed up with them all just fighting all the time and getting nowhere.

I also gave Hoo, sorry, Member, a good talking to on the Alpha Course thread. He was being way too hard on Insight. Sometimes I am amazed that Hoo/Member *almost* listens to what I have to say.

Gee, maybe this is a new job for me? Telling people off?

Really, could get into this a bit . . . hmmmm. Well, okay, not really. It just seems so stupid that people totally lose track of what they are supposed to be discussing.

And truly, I have nothing to add. I'm just hanging around and reading stuff and basically getting pissed off at people who won't listen to each other! smiley - biggrin

It's almost Christmas! I think I'm feeling a bit alone-ish about that. Mal told me I shouldn't worry as he will have to deal with several siblings and half-siblings all over the place. I kind of think I wouldn't mind that. Somehow. Oh well.

You'll find it somewhere on my page. Everyone is there! Math, Insight, hoo/member, Alji , a bit of Justin, and even the poor girl whose site member originally started the thread on.
