Well, yes. I may not be an expert, but I don't think they're doing it right. Can't we watch Dr. Who instead?
There is that too.
Oh, I'm sure you have other reasons for existing... for example, keeping your ISP in business
I just finished reading Gold... I'm in loooove.. with Asimov. Damn my taste.
The film was actually very good, although it had been severely Will-Smith-ified. I don't think they could have shot it much better. Worth a viewing

THat's the whole idea with village idiots. Talking of Doctor Who, I bought a DVD yesterday! The Leisure Hive- got it from our local Virgin Megastore (it's tiny... we have larger newsagents) who are closing down with a 40% off everything sale.
I missed out on them completely yesterday... mwahahaha!
No, my brother handles that one. I just fill in the odd shift when he's not hogging the line.
'Robot Visions' is quite good. He has a very distinctive writing style. I bought a couple of books on my excursion into town yesterday- Time, by Stephen Baxter (I've read one other book by him- Phase Space- and it was fantastic. I probably recommended it to you at the time), and I bought K-Pax, having never seen the film and only just discovering it was originally a book, and liking the sound of the theme and the blurb.

Mmm...I saw lots of Dr. Who DVDs in Smiths the other day. I still haven't managed to see an entire storyline, y'know... My Dad said something about some Green things or something being the best one, so I'm going to look out for that I like those biiiig sales....They were selling off books very cheap at Virgin in Bluewater.
Bless. I generally don't mind little kids on short bursts... They can't be *that* bad?
Well a shift's a shift...
The one that really got me was "Kid Brother". I have been recommended to read Baxter, but it was by my Dad The K-Pax book is on my mental Christmas list, which sounds a bit weird, but I think my Dad wants to buy it for me, so I'm leaving it for now. I have half a tonne of books waiting to be read...some Philosopy stuff, Iain M Banks stuff, Christopher Brookmire stuff... Loads and loads.

Green things... it's a low budget sci fi series. There are green things in almost every episode.
Nah, they're o.k, but tiring!
Doesn't make one's existence meaningful, though.
I'm running out of books to read... keep having to buy more.

I know, but erm..green things in what I presume to be the Tom Baker years...Invasion of the Green somethings, or something
Don't I know... I was completely out cold on Saturday evening..
I'm sure you lead a very meaningful existance...
Wait, I'm talking crap; all existance is meaningless. Ain't it the truth?
I'm working through my b#log of books from when I was reading during the exams... I'm reading my Tom Holt stuff now

TeaKay Posted Aug 18, 2004
Like I said... lots of green things. Even if you just narrow down to the Tom Baker years. There were green things in The Leisure Hive. In fact, you'd be hard pressed to get through any story without encountering something that's green.
You want to go easy on the orange juice, young lady.
Don't I know it...
We have many bookshelves, bags of books stuffed into the space between my ceiling and the sky, and I'm buggered if I can find something I haven't already read.

WEll it was "invasion of the..." somethings, definitely having "green" at some point in the name of the monsters And my Dad said it used to give him nightmares.. ~repressed giggle~...so I assume it's one of the scarier ones. Oh yes, I've no doubt that green stuff and things are the entire backbone of the Sci-Fi genre...
....
Most of the stuff in my room I've read at least twice... And mist of the stuff [that used to be] in this room I wouldn't touch with a bargepole, on account of bimbo-bookness, "feel good" romance novels and sports
Sorry...
TeaKay Posted Aug 19, 2004
It could be 'The Green Death'. That has big green maggoty type things in it.
Never mind.
I'm trying...
There's nothing like a 'feel good' romance novel to depress you to hitherto undiscovered levels.

Actually, that's a Jon Pertwee episode. I've looked up a list of Tom Baker episodes and there aren't any with the word 'green' in the title.
Now look what you've gone and done. You've got me obsessed, you have.
I'm going to Oxford tomorrow.

Actually, it was "the Green Death", come to think of it. I apologise for my badness at names, Tim. Erm, I mean Tom.
Ooooh.... Oxford I really liked it there, when I went

That's O.k Jeff. I mean Tanya. Glad to have that cleared up. But how could you get those two mixed up! Easily the two best Doctors, in my opinion, but very, VERY different!
I've never been. And I'm going to drive there. Should take me about an hour and a half, if I'm to believe the AA's map. I'm actually scooting round the outside of Oxford city, and coming to land in a place called Botley.

Oh, Jeff is fine, but I prefer Phil... *cough*
I told you I'm no good at names! I just assumed that if it was good, it'd be Tom Baker...
Should be good... Oxford's just a really nice little city The uni's very pretty, too I don't know about Botley, not been there to my knowledge When we went to Oxford, we stayed at Gerrad's Cross or something like that..

TeaKay Posted Aug 21, 2004
O.k... I prefer Tanya, myself.
Jon Pertwee was a brilliant Doctor too!!
It was nice. Didn't see much of it though- just Rache's house, really. Took me three hours to get there... I took a slight detour and ended up in Milton Keynes. It took me just over an hour to get back this morning.

I haven't seen enough to be able to tell you... In fact, I've mainly seen Tom Baker episodes ~shrugs~ I keep missing it.
Have fun? I mean, besides ending up in Milton Keynes...
Sorry...
TeaKay Posted Aug 22, 2004
It's a rather more... fitting name than Phil or Jeff. I hope.
I've mostly seen Tom Baker episodes, but I've caught a few from other Doctors... I have William Hartnell's first EVER episode on video.
Other than the detour, yes. It was a nice evening, not too heavy, and it was nice to see Rachel- I haven't seen her for more than a fleeting "hello" in months. Plus we played Big Jenga in the garden, which was good, although I lost. I put up a good fight, though- possibly the longest game I've ever played...

It really does depend on what kind of mood I'm in... and how much self pity I'm wallowing in... "They all think I'm a man! "
Ooooooooh...
I used to like playing little jenga.. I've not had a chance to play big jenga before, looks like fun
Sorry...
TeaKay Posted Aug 23, 2004
I don't think you're a man. I'm thoroughly convinced otherwise.
I know...
It was home made big Jenga, so the blocks weren't all quite the same size... added an interesting new dimension to the game!

But this time last year.... *cough*
Oh, it's not geeky...Okay, actually it is, but that'd make me a geek too D'you know, they ran an article in my regional newspaper about the locations of Dr. Who filmings throughout Kent.. Apparently a Darlek opened one of the seasonal fairs this year...
More of a challenging jenga, huh?
