Would anyone mind if I C&P the religious stuff from here to kick off my Atheist Fundamentalism thread A4497492? I won't be able get to it immediately, though. I'm absolutely feckin' snowed under with work (hence typing this after 11pm). It's good stuff which raises some interesting points about the difference between tolerance and acceptance. UU participation especially invited. Those guys are used to talking sensibly about religion without getting over-excited.
Oh...and does Dido not sound awfully like Judie Tzuke? (Remember her?)
"First Jill Dando died. Then Di died, and Dodi died...Dido must be s***ing herself."
Di-doo-doo-doo Di-dah-dah-dah...

By the way...I'd been feeling bad about putting on weight recently. But this afternoon I had my first appointment with a new shrink (the old one moved on), and she told me weight gain is a side effect of Depakote. So I'm not just a slob after all!
She seems nice. A bit more willing to talk about specifics than the last guy.
Now...can anyone of you USAnians send me Gap jeans in my size? I've outgrown the European branches - they're a 'young persons' store - but American young people go up to my size!

No need to cut and paste my stuff Ed, I'll head over to your space and think of something even better to write, but not tonight, I'm getting sleepy.

Ed, I've gone to your thread and started it up, A4497492
I hope it receives some good discussions my friend

I was thinking of C&P'ing my own comments as well, as opposed to paraphrasing.
Ed, I gained some serious weight when my doctor put me on Prednisone (steroid used to treat asthma) and Trazodone (anti-insomnia) at the same time. When I first went on the meds, I weighed in at about 98 lbs. Six weeks later, when I went in for my appointment, I weighed 187. My doctor's diagnosis? "Quit eating so much. And don't ask me to give you medication to help you lose it. Try getting some exercise!" As if one doubles their weight inside of two months by sudden dietary changes? (Except if they live off McDonald's and Super-Size it, as in the documentary. )
Anyway, I'd be willing to bet I could track down Gap jeans in your size. I'd be willing to investigate. There's a store not far from here, the other nearest one is downtown. But there's also Gap.com.

Yeah, I'm currently wearing US Gap jeans which still fit nicely. However - gap.com won't ship overseas.
Meantime - feck! My boss is leaning on me to work at the weekend.

Well, if you can wait a few more weeks until I know for certain that my former employer has sent me my last paycheck, and that it was a good check, I might be able to help with that. You could either find what you want at Gap.com and have it shipped to me, then I will label it and ship it to you? Or something. I'll see what I can do to help. I like Gap's jeans, too, I'm only 5'3" and most jeans are designed for women around 5'8" or so. Gap has a line of "reverse fit" jeans, meaning shorter inseams. Haven't bought any in a long time, though, I just can't get motivated to spend that much for clothes these days, so I've been getting my jeans second-hand and just settling for whatever they've got.
But I digress.
As for working the weeknd, F**K that noise!!

Well, usually when I offer help with stuff, I fail miserably somehow or other. But I'm willing to try. I don't want Edward traipsing around sans pants, he'll catch his death of a cold.

And can I say "Ugh" right now regarding Chicago's weather tomorrow and Monday?
Tomorrow's heat index (the temperature with humidity factored in) is to be around 114 F (around 45.5 C), and Monday it's supposed to be as hot, they're saying around 100-102 F (around 38 C) for Monday EVENING.
Of course, then they're talking low 80s by Wednesday. Who knows how long THAT will last?!

Probably about 7 minutes, almost certainly yo will be in the shower at the time & miss it.
I go round sans pants quite regularly, but maybe Ed shouldn't if it might frighten the and certainly not if it's brass monkey weather
Gap is an odd name for jeans don't you think? Surely the idea is to cover the gaps?
zdt*ascending into total lunacy; i was going to say "Beam me up Scotty" but i see they already have*

Thanks, PC. I may take you up on that. I could order on my card and have them shipped to you. However...I'll have to wait until my finances get sorted out. Meanwhile I remain un sans-culottes. 'A la lanterne, les aristos!'
