There sure are! I still keep in touch with a couple of the music lovers I met on the Punk Society who've moved on since the forum was started. But it is certainly cool to meet new people who can still come around and chat!

I don't listen to much newer stuff, I'm pretty well established between the late '70s through the mid-ish '80s. And I am getting into some '60s psychedelic stuff my S.O. listens to. I've listed a few of my faves in my intro, and I guess I know who a few of yours are. If you come across any other interesting music-oriented conversations, steer me in their direction. smiley - winkeye

So, thanks for saying hello. I'm eager to get to know you. Hope to hear from you again soon!

Yeah, I'll let you know if i find any good music conversations! I like some of the mid 70's stuff like the Sex Pistols and The Damned (althought i heard some Clash the other day and decided i didnt like it) and i like some of the 80's metal too, Motley Crue, W.A.S.P. The latest band ive got into are Motorhead, im going to see them in November! yay!! I hope they play Brave New World because I love that song..........
Look forward to talking to you too smiley - smiley

Hmmm, I don't mind the Clash, have some of their old albums... not bad stuff to mellow out to.

Motorhead's an old favorite of mine. I've never been terribly into the '80s metal stuff, but it seems to haunt me on the radio around here these days. There's a station with a Saturday night "Rock of the '80s" show, and my boyfriend plays it to harrass me when we're in the car. Nothing like a captive audience, eh? smiley - winkeye

What other kinds of stuff are you into besides music? Not that I mean to change the subject... just more stuff to talk about, ya know?

Talk to you again soon!

captive audience, lol! My mate got me into Nirvna like that, she played it to me in our Media class when i couldnt leave and didnt have my own music to drown it out with. Didnt like them before but she loves them and when i listened i discoverd they werent actually that bad.
Im writing a guide entry thing about a band calld My Chemical Romance, kinda goth-punk band i like.
Apart from music i spend loadsa time online or watching films. i dont watch much on tv, all thats on in my house is soaps or kids tv!! But my favourite films are The Rocky Horror Picture Show, 10 Things I hate About You and The Mummy. Not much difference between them, lol!!!!
What about you?

Wow, what happened there? Apparently someone is under pre-mod. I wonder how long we have to sit tight till we get to read what that posting said?

Yeh, i am. they're moderating everything i say "for a while" because i transferred from Talk Buffy which was pre moderated so now they think we dont know how to use messageborads properly. its usually pretty quick though.

I'm a film freak as well, myself. I've got a list of some favorites on my Uspace, as well as a journal entry dedicated entirely to the Netflix (online DVD rental service) films we've been getting. I'll also find a link to the Film Club and post it here, in case you're looking for anything cool to watch. Are you of legal age to watch any kind of movie? I know you said you're a teenager, but you don't sound all that young, the way you communicate. smiley - smiley

Besides music and film I enjoy reading, cooking, and art. Do any of those appeal to you?

I see. I didn't notice that before, likely because we weren't online at the same time. You seem to be handling yourself all right, so I'm sure you'll be off pre-mod in no time. smiley - smiley

I havent seen a bit about films on here so yeh the link would be great if you can find it, thanks. I'll be 15 next month but iv'e seen loads of films with higher age certificates, who hasn't? I watched loads of 18 cert. horror film thinking they should be properly scary but they weren't that good, they were just goryer than other films.
I hope im not on pre-mod too long, its a bit of a pain...

Here's a link to the film Club: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A3579438

I've not "reviewed" anything there yet, but I will soon. Also, again, feel free to browse the list I left on my Journal entry titled "We'll probably burn out the DVD player...", and see what kind of stuff we're watching and recommending.

Believe me, I know one's age isn't necessarily indicative of one's maturity level. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't being a bad influence or violating the House Rules by steering someone under 13 towards films which may contain a lot of graphic violence and/or "adult" themes.

I usually find "gorier" films hilarious, or at least highly amusing. Some of the most frightening films I've seen actually contain very little graphic violence. And while I'm not easily offended, neither the presence nor the lack of language or nudity or "adult" themes puts me off an otherwise enjoyable film. smiley - winkeye

Hope you're off premod soon! It is a pain, waiting to read what you've said.

Thanks for the link, i'll hav a look.
no, im not under 13 so don't worry smiley - smiley. It sounds like i take the same view to horror films as you, lol. The Exorcist was funny, made funnyer by my mate nearly refusing to watch it with me because he said it was scary and it just WASN'T. apart from that it was boring. Jeepers Creepers is probably the most BORING horror film ive ever seen. and i dont know what the scariest one is.
And im sorry bout the premod being a pain, theyr's nothing i can do about it so i'll just have to wait.

Ive been reading biographys of loads of bands on here, I found a great Nirvana one which had a load of stuff that my Nirvana obsessed mate hadnt told me. sorry, ive been listening to Nirvana too much, i'll shut up now...........(i didnt even like them before but they've kinda grown on me)

Hmmm, I guess that "arty" films are pretty much my "thing". Although whether or not I always "understand" them is debatable. smiley - winkeye

I liked Nirvana's "Nevermind" album, the rest I can take or leave. But quite a few of my friends are old fans.

lol. i just watched The Ring 2 but it was the original japanese version and i didnt get what was happening in that. me and my friend had to keep explaining to each other what had happened. but it was the first film i've watched with subtitles and at least THAT didnt confuse me.
Nevermind is the album i have. my mate made me listen to it untill i liked it. now we've affected each others music tastes because i now like Nirvana and she now likes the Sex Pistols.

Hey, kiddo, sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. smiley - doh

Haven't seen "The Ring 2" yet, probably won't until it's available from Netflix. We're planning to see two movies in theaters this month, which is a lot, considering we've only seen one other in the past year (which was "Fahrenheit 9/11"). We're planning to see "Kung Fu Hustle", which looks pretty funny, and "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", which, sadly, does NOT look like it's going to be very good. smiley - erm

Heya. I watched Fahrenheit 9/11 when it was on tv the other day. It was o.k, quite funny in places despite its serious message. Have fun at the theater! "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"? I've heard of that but never seen it. What's it about again?

The theatrical feature film hasn't been released here in the States yet. It opens the 29th. But the film is based on the books, presumably. smiley - smiley

I enjoyed the '80s TV miniseries quite a bit, I bought it on video some years ago and again on BBC DVD a few years ago when it was released here.

The previews I've seen make the feature film look REALLY bad, though...

Post 19

Ah well, it might not be as bad as it looks. I've never read any of the books but from what I've heard they seem like they could be quite funny.

The books, I've read a zillion times. As I have with DNA's other books. They are very funny, extremely entertaining. I recommend that you do, when you have a chance. smiley - smiley

Have a good weekend, dear. Have fun and stay safe. Talk to you again soon!
