Beware the evil roadworks!
Posted Jul 30, 2003
We had a bit of a nasty incident happen to us on Sunday. We were driving on the M42 and had to pass through roadworks. As we went past some cutting machinery it threw up a load of grit shattering one of our back windows. The noise was horrendous - added to by the screams of my two girls in the back. Luckily no one was sat in the seat right next to the window - otherwise they would have been quite badly cut. My 6 year old was the closest and she ended up with a tiny shard of glass in her bottom but was OK. I've spent a lot of the past couple of days reporting what happened to various different authorities and contractors and trying to find out just who to claim compensation from.
So - beware - if you have to drive past cutting machines in operation - pass them as far over as you can!

New Arrivals.......

There's great excitement going on here at the moment. We discovered 2 baby guinea pigs in our hutch this morning - a bit of a surprise seeing as all 4 of our guineas are girls! I suspect the latest addition - that we've had for 7 weeks - was pregnant when we got her (must check out guinea pig gestation times!) The babies are pretty big (about 4 inches long) - no wonder their mother has been looking fat over the past few days!

.....for a week.
We're off to Devon very early tomorrow morning - just as the weather is forecast to change of course! But taking plenty of wine and chocolate, so who cares if it's due to rain and blow a gale!
Have a nice Easter everyone - hope you all get a chance to unwind and relax.
Love V2

I'm back. Canada was just amazing - well the bits we saw, which were a bit of Alberta and a larger bit of BC. The people are pretty wonderful too. Really didn't want to leave.
