It was fantastic! He's totally nuts - but brilliant. He had so much energy and a real presence - glad we got seats quite close to the stage.

Most totally brilliant people are absolutely nuts. Its the price one pays for being brilliant.
Take Patrick Moore for example.
As for Genesis. I have one album that I bought because I was besotted at the time, and its `Trick of the Tail`. I still think its brilliant.
The saddest thing of all is that the majority of my `classic favourites` are all on vinyl!! So hard to find a decent `record player` these days!
I`ve answered emails... I think!
Take care Jan.

I think he's already done Canada with this tour. Apparently there is going to be another album out in the not too distant future (I'm not going to hold my breath though!) It took him about 9 years to write the stuff for UP and he ended up with so much material there's enough for another one - which is probably going to be called I/o. There may be a tour then with that one.
The stage show was absolutely mind-blowingly - of course, but . He walked upside-down for one song (Downside Up - which figures) on part of the stage set (I think they call it a Heaven stage) with his daughter Melanie. And he went zorbing round the edge of the circular stage for Growing Up. (There are pictures on his site www.petergabriel.com - but they are well hidden. There are some brilliant ones of zorbing in general on www.zorb.com and a couple from the show under the New section.) The lights and projected stuff were an art-form in themselves - utterly absorbing - I was transfixed. I could go on forever............I'm still floating!

Jane - Trick of the Tail is superb but we'll have to get you some copies of some of the earlier stuff! Selling England by the Pound for instance - and Nursery Cryme - you'd like that. (I know - I'm obsessed!)

Oh, you can find a decent record deck if you look. Mind you, you have to go to a decent hi-fi shop, not the likes or Currys or Dixons. Round here, Sevenoaks Hi-Fi was good. The advice was always to buy the best deck you can afford, followed by the next best amp, followed by cheaper speakers and upgrade outwards.
I have a Riga Planar 3 deck that I swear by.
