h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

We had a bit of a nasty incident happen to us on Sunday. We were driving on the M42 and had to pass through roadworks. As we went past some cutting machinery it threw up a load of grit shattering one of our back windows. The noise was horrendous - added to by the screams of my two girls in the back. Luckily no one was sat in the seat right next to the window - otherwise they would have been quite badly cut. My 6 year old was the closest and she ended up with a tiny shard of glass in her bottom but was OK. I've spent a lot of the past couple of days reporting what happened to various different authorities and contractors and trying to find out just who to claim compensation from.
So - beware - if you have to drive past cutting machines in operation - pass them as far over as you can!

Ouch! In the bottom! Oh, poor thing, I hope she's OK?

She's fine. She said at the time it felt like she had a hedgehog spine in her bottom! I don't think she's ever had a hedgehog spine stuck anywhere - but it was a lovely description .
