Short bio
My real name's Mark and I'm currently a third year student Mechanical Engineering at the Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands. Delft is also the town I live nowadays. I was born about 20 years ago which would make me how old....? :)
Hobbies
In my spare time I do some computer-related stuff, especially for the Opera browser ( see the H2G2 entry or Opera's site) and I'm reasonably good at HTML and CSS. Furthermore I'm active in Scouting Rurik. Af far as personal interests: I'm interested in almost all subjects...as long as they're interesting ;-) This makes the Guide such a great place to be!
Music
One of my main interests is good music. My preferences are very varied but mainly lie with the alt.country/americana stuff, some older rock and singer/songwriters. Currently I'm into Tom Waits, one of the most brillian singer/songwriters ever. Also Leonard Cohen, Nick Cave and such are in my playlists.
Nickname
My nickname, Istari, is derived from JRR Tolkien's brilliant, famous and currently extremely popular trilogy Lord of the Rings. The Istari is another word for the wizard-order to which Saruman the White, Gandalf the Grey and Radagast the Brown belonged. I just liked the word very much and have used it as my nick for a long time.
I haven't had much time to write entries yet, but I'm hoping to change this in the future. For the time being I'm trying to get to know the H2G2 stuff a little better.
