MOT time again.
Posted Aug 2, 2005
As regular followers of my journal will probably know every time my car goes near a garage its always managed to get theere in a dramatic and often expensive way, and today it was MOT time again. And yet again it's been a dissasterous day for Odo's car. She's failed, and rather expensivly to. Ho hum..... Now shall I repare her? Shall I get a new set of second hand wheels? Perhaps I should look at trying to find a new small (cheap) car that has several years warrenty on it.....

For the rain it raineth every day.

Well it ususally does when I go on holiday, and this year has been no exception. Although to be fiar it actually rained overnight on a couple of occasions and we had a several gloriously hot and dry days.
I suppose I should point out at this point that Master B and myself have just returned from a week on the Isle of Wight. Highlights of the holiday for me:- a swim in the sea and a day on the beach, the glass works - watching the glass blowers at work. Calbourne Water Mill which is tucked away into a gorgeous valley with a stream (obviousl) flowing down the middle of it - Here I learnt to punt in a straight line (and I have the photos to prove it) and the putting course is a lot of fun.
Where was I? The spider monkeys in the zoo were stars, showing off to the visitors; and the sting rays in the aquareumn were also a highlight.
The food was good, very good. In fact too good, and now I'd better do something about lots of walking for the remainder of the month so that when the students return in September and I have to put the 'formal' work trousers on again they're still comfortable round the middle.
See Master B's journal for further details.......
