I think you're right Mina. I really cannot afford to have more than a day or two off for the funeral.

I don't think you've gone totally mad...

I can see your predicament B. I'm sure the school would understand. If they are Year 10, can't it wait til next year or do you have to do coursework for particular modules? Maybe your mum would definitely appreciate you seeing her for a longer period in the summer hols.
Alex.

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho Posted Jun 26, 2005
Why on earth is that thread sill in Ask instead of Misc Chat? Why is it even there at all? What a complete and utter waste of time. If the bean counters at the BBC ever wanted justification for closing h2g2 down for being a waste of licence fee money they need go no further than 'What just happened'

He's becoming a real poison to the community by being so thick-skinned and aggressive. If it carries on I will make an official complaint about trolling.

B - that's really sad news about your Nan. I'm so sorry.
As for the kids, well aren't there support structures in place at the school to deal with you not being around because of a family crisis. Isn't that what you have heads of department, and school management in general for?
Serephina - to complain you use the yikes button. Though I don't think that it is against house rules to be tiresome and annoying, so you might not get much joy out of that approach.

i thought that was for objecting to a specific post not general complaint...

Yes it is designed for a specific post. But you use the mechanism to set up a line of communication with the italics that there is a general problem that needs to be addressed.
Though as I said before, based upon the (admittedly small) amount of these postings that I've seen, I don't think you'll get much joy from the staff.

Serephina - I've got Genie on YM at the minute. She wants to know if you're miffed with her; because she can't get in touch.

"Yes it is designed for a specific post. But you use the mechanism to set up a line of communication with the italics that there is a general problem that needs to be addressed."
The staff can't do anything if they don't have a complaints history. They need people to complain - although the mods can't cope with behaviour issues, so the complaints might not get passed. The Eds will notice if they get lots of complaints about the same person though.
I have to admit, he's not annoying me as much as he seems to be annoying other people.
As for what is that thread doing there - there are other people posting in it as well as him, although that snippet I saw he seems to be posting more than anyone else.
Key: Complain about this post
