Reika The Librarian, Keeper of Grammar, Most Things Literary, and Calabi-Yau Spaces

I want to join too. Unfortunately I will have to lurk (but that's okay as I'm a member of the Unofficial Lurker's Society) for a bit as I'm going to school (as well as working full time) and the term is coming to an end very soon. Pant...pant....having a hard time keeping up as it is! But I will keep checking back for the new book.

G'day and Namaste,
Reika

Has no one said welcome to you yet? Shame! Shame! Shame!
A very big welcome to you from a fellow Geordie – are you Geordie born and bred or just here for the University? I’m sure you’ve experienced the famous Geordie welcome by now but welcome again on line

erm ....

Good afternoon.

I came across this section of the guide almost by use of the ultimate improbability drive.

I'm puzzled. Please forgive me. Is there a book under study at present? There have been several suggestions but I have not found much evidence of anyone recently reading or at least commenting on a recently read book. I may not have found the relevant section.

I haven't been in a book group before (well not since home readers like Dickens in the 60s for Higher English). What does one do? (well I get the bit about reading smiley - winkeye ) Has anyone commented? I never could get the hang of precis or character assessment. Perhaps someone could guide me?

Feel free to join in on "No Logo" which we're still reading and digesting (very slowly) http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/classic/A705386

Quite a few of us are joining in on the Salonista's discussion of "Last Chance to See" which isn't technically on the book group syllabus but might as well be (how about adding a link on the front page Andy?)

For those not familiar with Book groups, see the Comedy series. Oh and putting your finger under the words and mouthing them is allowed, but only between consenting lifeforms.

I think we may have bitten off more than we can chew with no logo - as it seems we've all finished it at different times and no one commented as they went along much - but that's not to say we can't start chatting now...
