I could do Gordon.
But if your grumpy bar-starred is to fit in here, we need to go in the direction of the wanna-be punter, but I agree the two are too close. I was just chucking ideas out and Edward Knight fell out. Agreed he's not far enough removed from the R3 fellah. Needs some spice.

We need some editorship here, yeah?
My :
- Any one of us contributing more than one character seems wrong.
- We need to decide if the story is a ring (so one piece leads on to the next) or a melee of characters, all of whom are somehow connected to each other.
- We need to decide how closely we parallel Chaucer, and if it's to be at all close, some homework's needed. Fr'instance, is Edward Knight somehow based on the Knight's Tale? Only I can't remember how that one went. (Echoing originals by surnames would be a neat tag, though - IF we did it)
Boots reckons we're laddish, btw. Yeah, I know I'm digressing. Only I was a bit stunned...

'Scuse me, 'laddish' was merely a 'caring and sharing' comment on previous posts, not judgemental. (I promise you lasses!) But I do agree with Pin dear doctor. You write so well and (taking it as read) I am the thicko of the group. Trout your newest character to join the journey did not at first appeal...BUT then I remembered...we do not choose our train companions we merely endure them. Go where he takes you and our, (and your) characters will treat him as they see fit, in keepingwith their own characters...gosh boots that was almost deep...well as deep as a useleshound who has lost a pair of boots can get.
take care you old pair of socks

Most accessible summary I've found. I do feel we're biting off a bit to parody it accurately, though (plus what we have so far doesn't fit).

All right. I'm but humble porn . I don't intend to encroach on your editorship.
1) I wrote The Harlot's Tale (A1156745) pretty much on request. It never went quite where it was supposed to I know. But you can tell me to change it and I will gladly.
2) Laddish? thanks. Pre-Raphaelite ... what the f**k is that . It doesn't sound like much of a compliment?
3) Edward the Knight's Tale. I never meant to pick up the baton. I just had stuff in my head that I needed to get down onto the hard-drive. Just an idea. If it gets discarded, then amen.
4) "I can do Gordon". I s'pose what I meant was that I could probably do a whole better job of "The Nerd's Tale" than anything else. Unfortunately for me.
The whole idea of your project I like. I certainly don't want to take over or be pushy.

NoNoNo...
Don't be offended!
You're good porn.
And I'm sure we'd all quite like you to take over.
(I just want you to do what I say when you're in charge, that's all...)
Mor(e an)on!
(Ben's the potential Pre-Raphaelite btw, so don't worry about that either. I thought she'd probably look like the Lady of Shallott. Apparently she doesn't...)

Morning Trout great to see you're feisty at this time of the day!
1)Love the Harlot entry as have already said.
2)agree that laddish is cool! Pre-Raphaelite was, I think, a term Pin used to describe his imagined vision of another researcher.
3)Edward is 'different' to your usual style. For me (and remembering I am the thicko in this group) I want to know more about him. He comments on others being able ,or not, to afford his beautiful cars but I don't know much about his feelings about them (the people and the cars) perhaps he is ambivillent?
4)I think that was aimed at Pin not me!
The project was Pin's idea, I just got hyjacked into it and it is GREAT to have someone I hold in such high regard on the journey. Hope that covers everything...How many Tales are we aiming for and throw me
a challenge please!
Take care

Feisty. Always sounds fungal. Anyway, I'm in the afternoon. Sorry then. This is pretty much the only live thread I have, so I need to keep it going ...

Sorry. Thought yours said morning, not this time of day.

You sound like a Tweedle stop apologising!
Hey Pin why are we only allowed one Tale per researcher? I think perhaps that Mr Chaucer managed a few more than one...besides I'm bored. I should be saving my company from disaster but I don't care and I need a reason not to open the wine bottle tonight...come on boys give me a break!

(and who says Ben doesn't look like the lady of Shallot? )
Perhaps we should invade her space and abduct her into this thread

Boots Posted Aug 29, 2003
Excuse me that must be a very old photo! She looks exactly like the Lady of Shallot now!
