That beats the story of the old farmer in deepest Derbyshire who reputedly massaged his non-productive hens with Oil of Ulay !!
It`s a good thing that you will be involved in the transitional period...not only will it let you do your research, but you will certainly get closer to to the WD-40 team, sort of get to know how the operate, what they expect, etc. Also, on the question of rates, sometimes it`s no bad thing to ask, straight out, what they would regard as a fair sum. Sounds naive, but M&S often used to pay more than their suppliers asked, simply because they wanted to ensure that they , the suppliers, were on a sound financial footing, and could therefor guarantee a reliable service,
Just a thought.....
We are off up to Yorkshire early tomorrow to spend a couple of days with my son and his partner. Being a chip off the old block, it could well be a *Fluid* affair
Probably be around late on Sunday.
Take care, love,

Hi sweets! I need a !
Batty convinced me to sign up for an internet dating service. I did, so we'll see what that brings. The good thing about it is that I get to email with them back and forth before I decide whether or not I actually want to meet them. Of course - it will just be local guys. It's been a long time - so keep your fingers crossed I don't accidentally damage one!
I'm mentally tired.
Oh well, tomorrow is another day!

Know what you mean love...at the moment I deserve an Oscar for the act I`m putting on..
But that`s enough of that
I don`t have to tell you that I hope it works out for you, I think it`s a damned good idea, and good for Batty for persuading you
Like I told you before..treat `em gentle
Lots of good things have come from dating agencies, I personally know of a couple, who are now very happily married, who first met this way. So, fingers crossed
You deserve a break love

I sometimes feel like I am meant to spend the rest of my life alone. It's not what I want to do, but it just seems to be working out that way.
The problem is that once I really bond with someone (as in "fall in love") they are then a part of me forever. And unfortunately, when they stop caring for me ( which has been the case more often then naught) I can't stop caring form them. Thus I am still friends with a couple of my old boyfriends.
Now you know the real reason I havn't dated for 7 years. I don't want to invest the time and energy to get to know someone, and then have them leave. I think that not taking my "pregnancy" weight off for all of those years was part and parcel of the wall I put up so that I wouldn't have to get close to anyone.
So I have focused all of my attention on raising my daughter, providing her with a stable home. But I know that there will be a huge void when she gets old enought to go out on her own. So that's one of the reasons I am thinking about the dating scene again. The other reason being - it's no fun being celebate!
Oh well, I'm sounding whiney again. I could spend the rest of my life alone if I had to, I am strong enough.
Will I have to? Who knows...

Who knows indeed.
Realistically, you face change all the time, as you are having to, job-wise now. Inevitably, as your daughter gets to the age where she needs to branch out on her own, you will face another type of change. It`s how you handle that thats important. For both of you.
Some make the mistake of being too clinging, pretending that it`s for *their* own good, whereas in reality, they just can`t let go.
I can`t see you in that role Michele, but it would be wise to sort of prepare the ground, by creating another"life" for yourself.
And it seems what you are doing now is just that. No rush, no hassle, just see what happens.
You`ll only spend the rest of your life on your own if you want to.
Believe me..I`m a doctor
As regards not being able to stop caring for people...you must see that it`s a quality to be admired, surely? It might not seem so to you, bearing in mind what`s happened in the past, but we`re looking to the future now, love. So it`s not going to be a case of *when they stop caring for me*, because your a bit wiser now.
Here endeth the lecture, sorry if have presumed too much...

Sorry to hear the PC has expired love, but, you never know, a few magic "fiddles" might do the trick
Mine is showing signs of age..the brightness is diminishing, and Goo is somewhat darker than it should be. It`ll have to do for a lot longer yet!!
BTW, how did Caitlin get on with the golf lessons? Any interest?
And also, any progress with regard to the agency we were talking about, the one that Batty steered you towards?
Nosy, aint I ?

Caitlin got bored with the golf lessons. She like them, but hated the standing about and waiting for all of the other girls to take their turns. She wants me to take her out golfing - I said "miniature golf?" and she said "No MOM! *rolls her eyes up in her head here* I mean R-E-A-L golf!" Talk about the blind leading the blind... do you think they'll get mad if you don't play the holes in order, and you have to try 15 times for each hole? But I could take her to the driving range, I don't think we could hurt anyone there...
As for the internet thing... no, no interest from anyone so far. However I havn't put a photo up yet. Batty thinks that is what's keeping them from replying. However, I think once the photo goes up they may all decide to become celebate!

Can`t believe that
The driving range could be the answer, but, unless someone shows her the basics, and checks her progress from time to time, you may find that she just "practices mistakes". Mind you there`s no rush..she`s got all the time in the world.
Another hectic day today, went to get some information from someone, 20 miles round trip, and left some drawings behind. Got home, discovered what I`d done, and had to go straight back!
Bloody marvelous
Other than that.....everything ok

Hello Luv!
I've been trying to think of a name for my business all day. So far no luck Nothing sounds really catchy. My daughter wants me to call it "Thomas Designs". But I thought that would be rather boring...
Have had little luck getting on h2g2 the past couple of days. I've posted on several of your threads however... (hint, hint).

Michele, and a to Mistradong
I`m sure we can come up with a company name Michele, just needs a bit of constructive thought. Let`s ponder it for a while
Not been around much myself, except for a mad half hour with Batty, when h2g2 was all cock-eyed, postings-wise .
Just got back from a round of golf, (stolen time, should be working, but sod it !!)
Just nipping off to find these threads I haven`t seen yet....

to Michele and to Lurcher.
I wonder if Doily Mogul in the name might be eye-catching.
Doily Mogul Designs.

Lurcher Posted Jun 22, 2002
Well, I had suggested Doilly Designs on another thread, but Michele felt that clients would laugh so much they`d wet themselves
Come to think of it...that might not be such a bad thing...

Perhaps it isn't such a good name, maybe she needs something with more of a sense of the zeitgeist.
Back to the drawing board.
