Happy Birthday!!!
Evil Zombie Strider Posted Jan 21, 2002
I'll probably end up doing the second one. I do want to go to college, and I do feel ready for it, I just don't feel ready to know exactly where I want to specialise. Thanks for talking to me about this stuff!
Happy Birthday!!!
Lara Croft (Fountain of UFI) Posted Jan 22, 2002
Anytime, Strider! Seriously, feel free to message me anytime you need someone to bounce something off of, whether it's a topic for a paper, or career counselling (yeah, like I'm an expert there...) , or whatever!
Cheers!
Happy Birthday!!!
You can call me TC Posted Jan 22, 2002
Take that year. Bum around. See life.
Believe me, I know what I'm talking about
Happy Birthday!!!

I can't disagree with Trillian. There is so much more to life than books and classrooms! Sometimes you learn things faster outside of the school. Ah, what I have learned in my old age... You know, I think I have to agree with the saying that youth is wasted on the young...
Happy Birthday!!!
Evil Zombie Strider Posted Jan 23, 2002
Yeah. I'm just always worried that if I spend a year I'll never get back to it (schooling). And I really want to go to college, not because It's the *right* thing to do, or the *expected* thing to do, but just because I want to.
Still, it would be really nice to spend a year just finding out what the world is like. Finding out about myself. How to be an adult.
Happy Birthday!!!
Lara Croft (Fountain of UFI) Posted Jan 23, 2002
And just when you find out how to be an adult, you'll decide it's no fun and go back to acting like a teenager... Trust me... You know how recently I turned 30? Well for the last year, I finally went through my teenage rebellion and pierced my belly button, got a tattoo and dyed my hair pink. My mother's response? "Why couldn't you rebel when you were a teenager like everyone else??" Whatever... But I digress...
If you really have your heart and head set on going to college/university, you will. But taking time off will help you get rid of the stuff you don't need so that you can focus on the stuff you do.
Happy Birthday!!!
Evil Zombie Strider Posted Jan 23, 2002
Oh well. i'm doing plenty of rebelling now, but that doesn't mean I won't be able to later!
A year off it is then! (until I change my mind again)
Happy Birthday!!!

It's just small - about 2" across. It's a little / combination. You can see the sun, and then the is over top of it, so you can see them both. The flares of the sun are black, and the inside is red, orange and yellow.
(Apparently we need a smiley!)

Hey, I do my best!
Actually, it was students who corrupted me! Last spring, I was directing a one-act play at one of the local high schools. Most one-acts have 5 or 6 characters; this one had 22, so it was a large group. During the rehearsal period, I think every cast member either tattooed something or pierced something. Since many people thought I was one of them (I do look young for my age, but I don't think I look *that* young!), I decided "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!"
It's rather addicting - although I won't be piercing anything else, I am planning on getting a 2nd tattoo...
Happy Birthday!!!

I have no such interesting stories for myself. Just a simple ear piercing. Had three, but two of them never healed up correctly and I had to take them out.
I have a friend though, who recently got her 27 piercing! I don't think it looks very good, but it certainly is impressive. 22 in the ears, 3 in the navel, and one in each nipple. Ow!
Happy Birthday!!!
Lara Croft (Fountain of UFI) Posted Jan 27, 2002
Oooh... That just sounds painful... That's too many, if you ask me. Having 3 in my left ear, 2 in the right, and the belly button, that's enough. I went with a friend of mine when she had her nipple pierced (she's kind of anyway but a good !) and she screamed -- talked me out of ever doing that! I'd thought about getting my nose pierced, but it would only be for fun, for a short while, and probably just for the reactions... which could be a lot of fun...
Happy Birthday!!!
Evil Zombie Strider Posted Jan 28, 2002
Yeah, nose'd be OK for a while. Lip rings (although usually pretty ugly) also go away nicely when you take them out. tongue rings (as far as I'm concerned) are a nono. I don't really want anything but earings anyways.
Happy Birthday!!!
Lara Croft (Fountain of UFI) Posted Jan 29, 2002
Yeah, I can't figure out the whole tongue piercing thing either. Apparently some see it as a sexual turn on. I see it as painful, especially when eating anything with vinegar...
Happy Birthday!!!
Evil Zombie Strider Posted Jan 29, 2002
Yeah. Same with c**t rings. Not sexual. Just gross. (The views expressed are mine and unless specifically stated are not those of the BBC.)
On a completely different subject, is your winter up there being as dismal as mine? All our snow melted. MELTED! It's JANUARY GODAMIT! (sigh...)
Happy Birthday!!!
Cybercat Posted Jan 30, 2002
Oh, my GOD I`m soooo sorry I missed your birthday
(*Hands cake to Lara)
Did you have a nice day?
How are you?
Hope you like it, sorry its late!
Happy Birthday!!!
Lara Croft (Fountain of UFI) Posted Jan 30, 2002
Thank you so much, Cybercat! The day was alright -- it almost seems strange being 30 now... And hey, you can never have too much !
Strider -- Congrats on being an ACE! Good for you! As for winter, I would gladly trade you. We don't have much snow this year, but it was -42 degrees Celcius yesterday morning on my way to work. That's "stupid-cold" as in, it's stupid to be out in it. Where are you located?
