Great place ye gots here!
Well, a bit about myself may be in order. I first learned about h2g2 while searching the Internet for information about Douglas Adams. I has just finished reading the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe, and I was really interested in the mastermind behind the series. I stumbled upon the site, surfed around, liked it, and promptly forgot about it. The mind is a terrible thing... Just a couple days ago, I was bored in the computer lab at high school, and searched CNN.com for something to read, and read an article about online encyclopedias. One of the mentions was, lo-and-behold!, h2g2. Now after reading the article, I kind of wondered whatever happened to the Guide, I checked in yesterday, loved what I saw, got very jealous, and signed up.
Hopefully, I'll get the hang of what happens here soon, and I may even contribute a couple articles in the future once I learn the basics. The community here seems nice, and I really do hope I'll fit in! :-)

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
