Like any song by the Feeling for instance.
Unfortunately I never liked the Feeling to start with (the lead singer's voice gets on my nerves for a start) but I just can't get away from them on the radio. And that flippin song by Kid Rock, where they messed about with two of my favourite songs. I noticed a couple of DJs have been playing the originals of Werewolves Of London and Sweet Home Alabama in protest.

Been hearing that "singing Sweet Home Alabama all summer long" song loads on the radio recently. Not that I think it's a bad song, but would be nice to get the original at times.

I like the feeling but that's me....it's your opinion and you don't have to like them but I just want to say that I like them, I don't like all the other versions of good songs, I don't like the way that a band goes through the trouble of making a song and some lazy does another vesion of it!! It's highly annoying!!

Don't start me on cover versions!!! Especially bad ones. If you *insist* on doing a cover, you *must* do it well and do justice to the work the composer and original artit did, especially if they're the same person.

Keltica did a very good cover of Run to The Hills and most people think, those that know of it, that the Pixies cover of Silver is the original version, but it was originally recorded and released by The Breeders. Also a lot of people thinkthat Jimi Hendrixes version of all along the watchtower is the original and best and not, as is blatantly obvious, a butchered mockery of Bob Dylan's original.

I love Jimis version of all along the watchtower. Newton Faulkner's done an ace version of massive attack's teardrop.

Few people do a better version of a song than the original. equally, few can do it justice.
Westlife *really* got on my nerves for constantly doing covers. Not that they did them really badly, but just that there were so many of them. got insane.

Don't think it was a good version, the only way to enjoy music (I think) is to listen to the *origional* version!!

Have you actually heard it??
...I'm sorry I'm just so flabbergasted, I have never spoken to anyone who doesn't like Jimis version

Well I like Dylan's too, but I don't think I'd necessarily listen to it out of choice. Even though he automatically gets points for writing it.

NPY Posted Jul 30, 2008
Yeah, definately gets points for writing it. Dylan does have his own unique style, doesn't he?
