Cat-Eyes: No..... why.... ?

So, do you get the english version but there are subtitles down the bottom? Like we get with French movies? (I hate watching movies with subtitles, you miss everything)

I love subtitles! You get to hear the original dialogue, *and* you can get a translation if you need it. No mismatching lip sync...

I suppose it is something you get used to, almost every foreign film is subtitled. Only the little kiddie films get dubbed to Swedish, as soon as you can read fast enough there are subtitles.

It does no end of good for your speed reading, and you learn some interesting slang phrases as well.

Jackruss a Grand Master of Tea and Toast, Keeper of the comfy chair, who is spending a year dead for tax reasons! DNA!

All films are foreign to me!

its just sitting in a room with a bunch of strangers that does me in!

Lady Pennywhistle - Back with a vengeance! [for a certain, limited value of Vengeance; actual amounts of Vengeance may vary]

Milla, that's exactly the way it is with Hebrew here! Things don't get dubbed, just translated on subtitles. I prefer it much better that way (even though the translation can be horrible sometimes, I keep cringing at the stupid mistakes they make).

But at least this way, you can spot the poor translation, if it were dubbed you'd have no clue! Plus sometimes they make a twist to a translation that makes a joke even more funny!

Milla, do you have an actor in Sweden that can make Marvin sound more depressed than usual, that could be quite funny

I can only think of a few that have died of old age already smiley - sadface... I fear Marvin might sound more of a whining type than really depressed if he were to be dubbed, and that is not what we're after, right?

I agree, that would be sweet. I can't beleive people have to wait so long. It was tourture just to wait a weekend knowing it was out. I was so much fun.smiley - magic

I saw it at the weekend. smiley - smiley Not the greatest thing ever, but I did love 'So Long and Thanks for all the Fish'. I know one of the people who did the voices for that song. What a claim to fame!

Sorry for the people who have to wait months for the subtitles. I also know someone who does subtitling in Denmark. OK, I've run out of people I know, now...

Mr Jack

It's nice to know some people liked it... It had many good things to it but it didn't really come together to make a particularly good cinny experience [for me].
