Nice Guys Finish Best

Sometimes, it pays to be a nice guy.
I was working late, as usual tonight, when I saw a lady with two kids looking at the rocks and fossils in the display cases lining the first floor hall in Crouse. I asked them if they had seen the cave bear yet, and walked them around the fossil section with a few explanations of what they were like when they were alive. While the kids had their noses glued to the Fairlawn Mastodon display case, I talked for a little while to their mum.
Turns out she was the chief chemist for one of the big names in environmental consulting in the Midwest! And they were hiring recent college grads for temporary work in the summer!
It also pays to have your resume with you at all times!

I mean, it was a little of everything- I always offer to show kids the fossils when I see them looking around, and she raised them very well because they were a joy! I mean, I could have talked to them for hours if they'd let me!
Ah, the sweet smell of serendipity!
Does anyone else remember a book with a of that name?

I'm pretty sure it's a children's book. Let me check.

Just making sure- I remembered learning to read off of them. Sort of a stream-of-consciousness thing going on.

I don't know about that- remember, my hard drive went two weeks ago, and then there was that thing with my grandparents' house, my field area getting flooded...
