How was it for you?
Posted Dec 31, 2011
Christmas I mean. Mine was spent in bed with a nasty dose of flu, the worst one I've ever had in my life. If coughing were an Olympic sport I'd be a gold medalist, and my nose could easily run 1000 metres. My first day outside today and I'm tired but glad to be feeling a bit better at last.
So, happy new year to you.

Celtic Fair
Posted Nov 19, 2011
A trip to town today and the Celtic Winter Fair was in full swing. The place was absolutely heaving and I came home with a lighter purse and heavier shopping bag. Lots of Normans and Anglo-Saxons running the stalls but where were the Celts?
Wonder if I could complain under the Trade Description's Act?

Grandad
Posted Mar 10, 2009
Yay, I'm a taid (grandad) yet again and to a little girl this time. We knew it was going to be a girl since the parents asked to be told the sex after the scan. The mother is a pink freak; pink colour and not Pink singer, so everyone's been buying pink things. Pink clothes mainly and tons of them as well as a pink stroller/buggy for later on.
I don't know what we would have done if it had turned out to be a boy after all. All the receipts I had are long gone and the same is probably true for everyone else. We might have ended up with a very confused boy.
I've never had daughters so a girl is a whole new experience for me.

Speeding
Posted Feb 17, 2009
Well that's sixty quid well spent; three hours of lecturing and a free Highway Code booklet thrown in for good measure. I've just come home after attending a Speed Awareness Course, the alternative to three penalty points on my licence.
Has it had any effect?
It's made me paranoid about speed cameras.

wrinkled stockings
Posted Dec 14, 2008
A world without Norah Batty? I never thought I would see the day but it came with today's news. Sadly Kathy Staff has passed away and another character is lost to us. Will there be any more Last of the Summer Wines I wonder? It won't be the same without her, those wrinkly stockings and broom.
