Good theory, I had a look, and it turns out there is a Paul, he's there with Peter and Mary! (We apologise for the bad folk music jokes, and hope fervently that someone else gets it)

Peter, Paul and Mary were my favorite singing
group in the 1960s. I liked them better than
the Beatles or the Beach Boys, though I liked
those groups too.



Puff the Magic Dragon lived by the sea,
And frolicked in the Autumn mist with a nudist colony...

They sang so many great songs: "Blowin' in the wind,"
"Freight Train," "Don't Think Twice, It's all Right,"
"The First Time Ever I saw your Face," "In the Early
Morning Rain," "Leaving on a Jet Plane." They left a
big void when they split up.

I used to letch..I mean apppreciate Mary's talents, now Shakira has come along and I'm like a pig in sh*t.

But Peter Paul and Mary's cover versions never had a patch on the originals, or is that just me...

I'll second that PS although I found Leaving on a Jet Plane was pretty good. (I'd been dumped at the time so it resonated with me)

I tended to see them as refugees from the Beatnick era at the time but our tv reception was pretty crap so that might have had something to do with it.

Being a young fella who only watched them with the benefit of hindsight, I always found them thoroughly able.

My old boss had hindsight.
Every time I tried to get away with something he'd catch me out.
He'd say, "I've got eyes up my a*se lad."

and I knew the names of the artists who sang the original songs, after that I was back to normal; thick.

About the smiley thing, Mistadrong.......I did what you said and I couldn't find them on the hard drive....but by then I was dead set on having my smileys for my email, so I just cut and pasted them straight off these pages! Worked a treat.......I'm a bit concerned about all those poor trapped ones though! Maybe I hadn't got any in my hard drive! Well I have now!!
