Well, what alot in common!
I also work in Baton Rouge, but actually live just east. But a native non the less, and still consider myself a Baton Rougean.
I've been ghosting in and out of the What's going on in New Orleans thread for a few days, and I just decided to make contact. You are representing us very nicely. Keep it up!

I went to school in Baton Rouge. Just to make sure my accent was thoroughly confused.
Thank you, I am trying. But, that thread is so trying.
I think the southern attitude and way of doing things does not translate well.

Hi y'all, I'm from Tennessee. Not so far south, but still Southern. I have in laws in Baton Rouge.

Hello, JEllen. I've been meaning to stop by your page and thank you for you post in that other thread on my page about Louisiana recovering soon.
Where in Tennessee are you? I have been to Nashville and Memphis.

I'm fine, thanks.
Have you seen the weather out there? It's all sunny and I have to be inside.
To make matters worse... the mall isn't that far away, either.

Sunny where you are? It looks like rain, here. And which mall, Cortana or Bluebonnet? I work awfully close to Cortana.

Evangeline Posted Mar 30, 2006
I have sun out the front window. No promises about out back.
Cortana is two blocks West of where I work.

I just looked out our front window, and yes, it is sunny! Ok, ready for an amazing coincidence?...I'm about (guessing) 3 or 4 miles from Cortana, on South Choctaw. This is almost too good to have never met!

Closest intersection to here is Florida Blvd. and Monterey.

I'm on S. Choctaw between N. Sherwood and Flannery. I bet I've seen you a hundred times in the area, and never knew it! Would you like to get together for lunch one day?

If you have shopped at that Albertson's on Florida, or Michael's or the Office Depot, we probably have run into each other.
It would be nice to meet you in person. I don't have much in the way of a lunch break. Lunch is our busiest time, you see.
But, I usually finish for the day between 3 and 4.

I work til 4:30. Ah, maybe one day we'll work the schedule out. In the meantime, I'll wave at strangers, and one may be you.
