Hi JEllen, I hope your appt went well. I'm sure you'll be by to let us know about it.
I did Karaoke for the first time in 20 years a few weeks ago. There was a very fun mix of very talented and able people there along with lesser talents like myself. One of the more talented bois did a fantastic version of "White Rabbit" one of my faves. The crowd was enough to be appreciative of all talent levels which worked in my favor.

Hey JEllen- how did the visit with your new therapist go?
Karaoke, eh? You picked a good tune!
I have a parcel with your name on it, complete with a copy of "The Joshua Tree", the Pirates DVD, and the Beatles "Blue Album" double CD (not a copy) ready to go. I shall hopefully post it this weekend.
I hope you'll be around tonight, I'd love a chat!!

Hi PC, are you still on? I would love to talk.
To all,
The therapy session went fair. It was not spectacularly bad or anything, but neither was it exceptionally good. For starters the letter from my old therapist introducing me got lost. So the session was cold turkey. This therapist is more reserved and formal than Linda was. I didn't get an hour like I used to, I got 50 minutes. I've made another appointment, but in the back of my mind I am considering trying some other therapists too.

A couple reasons I am thinking of other therapists. One of the people on my list has her office in a nice little complex where my dentist is. It would be convenient to get to. Another person on my list has a name very close to a name I dreamed recently - and y'all know how into dreams I am.

Oh JEllen, speaking of dreams...a site I'd meant to pass on/post a link to (it has among other things, a dream dictionary):

Sorry to hear the new therapist wasn't so good. Especially about the letter being lost. Though I find that you basically start cold turkey even if they have a huge file on me. I always have to explain everything from the beginnin which I hate. Sounds like the one near the dentist's might be good alternative, but maybe this new one will loosen up as time goes on too. Course, maybe I'm just talking out my I'm sure you'll figure things out.

Edward the Bonobo - Gone. Posted Oct 5, 2004
I had an appointment with my trick cyclist this morning. They're never very satisfying affairs. He's a nice enough guy and all - but it's a fifteen minute appointment, and all he really does is checks how I'm feeling and decides not to change my medication. On the one hand, healthcare in the UK is free (at the moment!). On the other hand...it is thinly spread. I always go in feeling trepidacious (is that a word), trying to work out how I've been feeling - and come out thinking "was that it?"
I really need to find a counsellor, but it would have to be someone who understands my condition properly.
Anyway, Ellen - I hope you settle in with someone you feel happy with.

Yes, keep hunting until you find that "comfort" factor, it's a bit like a "love" type relationship, you need to have both the "spark" and the "comfort" factors, otherwise it just doesn't work.
At least with a therapist you can just explain "sorry, it just doesn't feel right" & no offence is taken, no one gets hurt, not the case with love stuff.
meantime, DO keep talking to us on here, we aren't professionals but ARE your friends & 'cos many of us have been/are going through similar stuff, at least we understand what it's like from the inside.
"Curryoke" love the idea, two of my fave things at once! My birthday party was a bit like that, as i am sure RK & Leo will tell you. I am one of these evil people who are up there hogging the mike & bullying everyone else to join in, basically a bloody big show off!!

Jellen I think you should try the one in your dream where the name is very close
I have personally had bad luck choosing by convienence of locationbut it does not guarantee trouble!
The second appointment can be a lot more comfortable than the first so it may be too early to write off the first one. No need to commit in a rush since it can be a rather long term relationship Good Luck with the decision.

Did everybody check out Eds article? It is very good
Ellen I loved what you have on your painting!
The computer froze up right when I opened it so I could not get back to you. It's very vibrant and beautiful.
My computer freezes with pictures and video stuff.
Not all the time but sporatically.
Any ideas of what to check?
Every since I loaded the sp2 security thingee for Msoft I have had to trouble shoot but it is getting better. It is suppose to be more secure and I hope it is but so far it has kept me out of places I want to go!

Good luck with everything Ellen!
It seems I'm also now going to change my therapist. My psychiatrist, Stoffel Grobler, is now in Ireland and may never come back! He and I got along great until now. I have an appointment this Friday with a new guy.

Ellen is that the one who is close or the one you dreamed about with the similar name?
