Not unusual at all for me.... when I get on the computer I lose all track of what's on the tv, since I can just see it from here, not even hear it very well..

Oh right, yeah I stopped watching TV and doing this at the same time as I kept confusing the two and answering the TV on here, and shouting postings at the telly.

Well, I was getting paid to sit in a pub playing bad folk music all day yesterday, and got bought a huge amount of free drinks while I was there. Then I had to go to another pub for my friends birthday til about 2:30 in the morning. After which I finally managed to get some food inside of me. I was handsomely paid for it all though and it was in the line of duty. smiley - cheers

It must be terrible for you to have all that forced down your throat....

Glad to hear you made a little extra cash though - that always comes in handy.

Why bad music? Or perhaps I should ask you to define bad music smiley - erm

Bad music is music being sung by drunk old men with no sense of rhythm or melody with attempted accompaniment by two equally drunk young men with guitars. Mostly songs like the wild rover, and sailing and suchlike, which were pretty bad to start with.
Especially when the two guys in question didn't bother to practise or think about what to play until ten minutes before they started. However it was the most fun I've had in ages.

Yes, it does sound like fun..... I doubt anyone there was in any condition to notice it was played badly - with the possibility of the two professionals who hadn't practiced... Seriously, I seldom hear bad stuff when people who know music well are playing, and even if I do I just chalk it up to the fact we're all human and make mistakes sometimes...

I tried to listen to your music on that page you gave me - kept doing something wrong, it didn't work for me. Oh well..... maybe someday, or else I'll get one of my kids to help me with it eventually.

it really is fun, better than yesterday, playing outside at a fete in a hurricane with the constant threat of Rain. Truly a comedy moment, watching our singer trying to hold down the little tenty thing that just about covered the drums down while singing and keeping her hair out of her eyes as well. smiley - laugh

Always an adventure, apparently...

Have had good weather for our little family excursion to the New Jersey shore this week, although a little chilly and windy (but at least it didn't rain the whole time)...

I waved to all my friends on the other side of the pond as I stood in the surf...

Heading home tomorrow, where the connection is better and we aren't all competing for time on the computer cause there's so many computers at home...

You stood in the surf in the wind and cold? Are you mad? I do hope you enjoyed your excursion though. It's always good to get away.

The official temperature on the mainland here (this place is actually on an island) was around 90 F (32 C), but it is a little cooler on the island, because of the cool air coming off the ocean. And the wind made it seem even cooler - lots cooler as a matter of fact. If we had this kind of breeze at home, I'd be unlikely to complain about the heat so much.

Anyhow, the water is pretty cold, but that doesn't stop me from at least walking along the edge of the surf - I coulda been a beach bum. Maybe I shoulda been a beach bum. Couldn't do it here year round though - gets too cold in the winter.

This was an unexpected trip this time - we normally come here later in the summer when things have warmed up more, but we were supposed to visit my Mother in Law in the mountians of Virginia this week, only she's sick and we didn't want to be a burden to her in any way - I know her well enough to know that if we were there she would have been trying to do too much. So our nieghbors offered their condo instead - we have wonderful neighbors. Never in my life did I imagine I'd actually be able to afford such a luxury as staying in a condo at the beach, and we still couldn't afford to do such a thing, but since they only come here for part of the week, they let us use it once in a while. So we make the most of it. It's quite comfortable and homey, truly a home away from home.
