Actually, yesterday, it was loading very quickly - it was great!smiley - biggrin

Now it's back to slower than a comatose snail.smiley - erm

How am I supposed to check out your Warner Village cinemassmiley - huh Reality check - I'm kinda on the other side of the pond! smiley - smiley Of course you're so young you couldn't possibly remember when all the screens were huge. Going to see a movie was a real experience at one time - larger than life was not just a cliche...

Are you sure you weren't just smaller? smiley - winkeye

I've been smaller.... also been larger... hope to be a lot smaller again before too long...

And no, this is not a scene from Alice in Wonderland.

smiley - ermYou have to realize that I'm about twice your age, and when I was a teen the theatres all had huge wide screens......... just to give you an idea of how wide the theatres were, it was not unusual at all to have 20 seats or more across in the middle section of the theatre, plus another 10 or 20 across on each side seating section... some had 2 wide middle sections.... well, anyhow, it was long before they started chopping big theatres up into little broom closets with screeens. It hardly seems worth it now, by comparison...

Must be an american thing that hasn't spread to far over here yet then, most of the Cinemas I've been to are about that size still. Except my favourite, which is a tiny little place that shows arthouse movies, has a bar and lets you smoke while you're there still.
I curse the day they banned smoking in Cinemas, evil people, they still let the Bsmiley - bleeptards eat Popcorn there....

smiley - erm Some of us are highly allergic to tobacco smoke..... seriously - I get bad asthmatic attacks from it... I don't mind if people smoke, I just wish they wouldn't exhale into the air I need to try to breathe... At least crunching popcorn never suffocated the person sitting next to them, as annoying as it can be to hear when you're trying to watch a movie.

Not trying to be offensive, it's just that the smoke goes everywhere, and even a little bit can set off a reaction some days. You're allergic to bee stings (or was it wasps?) so I certainly wouldn't ask you to just let them sting you, and tell you that you'll get used to it - it's dangerous for you, so you do whatever is necessary to avoid them, right? This is one of the reasons why I tend to try to avoid places that allow smoking, and am very glad that a few places have banned it here. Otherwise, I doubt I'd ever leave the house much at all.

I do understand the need for non-smoking sections, I just think that with the invasion of the multiplex, perhaps one or two of the little screens could be given back to those of us who feel the need to slowly but surely top ourselves while turning our fingers yellow.

I apologise if I sounded like a militant smoker, I do come off as one sometimes, but some of the militant anti-smokers can be a real pain. I see your point entirely, I wouldn't like to have to sit in a room full of bees and wasps (it's both) as anaphylaptic shock can cause grwat inconvenience. smiley - winkeye

smiley - ok

I think a lot of smokers simply don't realize that the smoke goes everywhere... it permeates everything.... When I go to a restaurant with a non-smoking section, it doesn't do much good, because there's no wall and air-lock between the smoking and non-smoking areas... That's really what it would take to keep the smoke out of the non-smoking areas... It's just *less* smoky in the non-smoking areas.

I hope that doesn't sound militant of me smiley - smiley.... If you want to do that to yourself, that's your decision. I do sometimes feel like it's pretty inconsiderate of smokers to continue to smoke in my presense when I've explained the problem to them. The really ridiculous thing is when they'll hold the ciggy behind their back while they're talking to me - as if the smoke can't possibly make it to where I am if they do that! I also realize that if you are a smoker you don't even notice small amounts of smoke.

But then I feel the same way about people who douse themselves with what smells like a whole bottle of perfume - gag! smiley - groan Of course these days when they make all the lotions and creams and splashes and soaps that smell like your favorite cologne it is very easy to overdo it, especially once your nose becomes so accustomed to the fragrance that it's hard to smell it, so you put on more, thinking it's worn off... Next thing you know, people can smell you coming 10 minutes before you enter a room.....smiley - yuk

Yeah, I lost my sense of smell a long time ago what with a diet of Curry, Vodka and ciggies. So I don't notice these things, it takes a guest to point out to me that my flat stinks of booze, fags and dog and I really should invest in an air freshener or two!

What a combination....

But I will agree it is quite possible to lose your sense of smell for certain odiferous things..... Years ago I worked in the shoe department of a store, and to this day, I can rarely smell stinky feet... they have to be pretty bad for me to notice them. But that's an improvement, there was a time after that when I couldn't smell feet at all...

Which begs the question -why would anyone want to smell feet? The answer is I don't want to, but stinky feet just happen... it just seems odd that I can't smell them.

What is it with brits and curry? Seems like all the brits on here just love the stuff - not too many people on this side of the pond are really into it, it seems.

I've no idea why we all took to Curry so much, I think it might be the same thing we have for Chinese food, it gets delivered to your door without any effort on your part. That and the competitive aspect to it, out-hotting your mates and suchlike. We do seem to like that sort of thing.
It must be nice to not smell stinky feet, my feet are about the only thing that I can still smell.

I didn't say I couldnt smell *my* feet, but I know they're pretty bad when I can - whew!

Similar out-hotting competition here - only it's chili or wings, that sort of thing . I can only take so much of it though - I prefer out garlic-ing everyone else...

We like lotsa chinese here, too, but I don't go for the hot stuff, just regular stir fries...

You sure are on here a long time tonight - i'ts good to see you playing around on here again!

Yeah, it's a bank holiday tomorrow so I don't have to go to sleep really early. Plus I've finally finished this damn CD I've been working on for the last two years so I have spare time to play with. Wahey!

That's the one, very much the Queen's golden Jubilee all weekend. smiley - cool
You might like this new CD, cos it's a lot more like real music than what I normally do. It's got a tune and nice harmonies and everything. I just did it to see if I could, and it's really turned out all right in the end.

Why yes you can, there's two tracks off of it that I finished ages back on my mp3 page. Been there since Xmas. They're called Fantastic Actress and Xmas 2000 (actually that one's a bit odd, but not too much) and they should be at the top of this page http://www.mp3.com/plasticsquirrel
