Sorry, haven't really been around for a while...

Haven't done much yet either I'm afraid. Got an ok from my co-author on the Jerusalem entry to do the separate bit, but haven't had time to start it at all.

The Post piece looks good anyway - already plugging it in my tag. I might also leave a message later to a friend about this (he's the guy that wrote the Submarine Combat entry) but I don't know if he could join because he hardly has any time online nowadays. *shrug* Couldn't hurt, I guess.

Just logged on as PRODteam and left a message to my friend... hope that's alright.

Jodan, maybe you should add PRODteam as one of the PROD writers? Seems to make sense - and this way there'll be a handy link to it from the PRODteam U-page.

What do you mean adding PRODteam as one of the PROD writers? On the Post piece? I can't do that. If you mean on my PROD page, I expected that that page would be superceded by a new one from the PRODteam that all of us will maintain.

We've certainly gotten the response which we apparently wanted. I've been doing my best to send back replies defending out point, but there are a lot of them and they write a lot!

You think and type faster than me, that's for sure.

It's a pleasing reaction. Not all in agreement, of course, but most of it considered.

I still have a lot of trouble really understanding some people's motivation, though. Exactly what is it that we're all trying to cultivate in the EG?

Sometimes I think that the Edited Guide is our religion, and the Guidelines its catechism. Whenever we stop and really think about what the EG is for, our belief falters, and so we have to recite the creed a few times to shore it up.

If that model's valid, then questioning the EG will have the unintended consequence of strengthening adherence to the Guidelines.
