I absolutely adored Babylon Five! I remember J'Kar, played by the very talented Andreas Katsulas. Great character! . I'll happily take your compliment Z , although the hot tempered bit's not me....I wouldn't say BOOO! to a goose,

Another Babylon Five fan! Great!
Little loves it. We didn't see it on TV. Roy has got some videos and DVDs. There's more to come, as the next series isn't yet out on DVD. I thought it was wonderful watching the character development. Glad you took it as a compliment, Jick !

/magic/ yeah, both hubby and i never missed it when it was on tv... we only have terrestrial tv, and a video which refuses to tune into the old telly we've got, but hopefully we'll have the facilities to watch the new one when it arrives. i'd hate to miss it...
can you remind me of the telepath in the series please...she had flaming red hair, and was my favourite character /erm/. her and londo's sidekick...he was so sweet. as you can see, even for shows i love to bits, my memory isn'y great for remembering names /doh/

Mmm, let me see now, Jick - there were two telepaths on B5, Jick - the blond rather cold one, who turned out to be a plant and the one you mean. I'll ask Roy.
Londo's sidekick was Vir - I really liked him!
Well, Roy didn't know, but little did - the blond one was Talia Winters and the red haired one was Lita Alexander. His knowledge of these things is razor sharp!
I hadn't seen B5 until Roy brought his videos - shame yours doesn't recognise the TV! Is there anything you can do about that. I have only terrestrial TV too - not even Channel 5.

what a clever little /fish/..../star/. lita...that's her...please thank little /fish/ for me.../hug/
she was the one that helped the vorlons, if i remember correctly, yeh....
clever you too for remembering vir, he was lovely wasn't he....always trying to cover for londo.../magic/
short of getting another tv, not much i can do about the video.../wah/...run out of enough pennies to replace it.

I'm looking forward to the new series coming out on DVD, Jick . Apparently, Roy recorded some on his video, so there are episodes for me yet to discover.
I really like the Sic Transit Vir, where Vir was helping the Narns escape. Such a lovely title.
And the one where Vir was sent a lovely young woman to be his bride - he was all bashful - and she turned out to be *very* bloodthirsty and prejudiced against the Narns - she delighted in torturing them. He ended up by not marrying her - a lucky escape for him!

Oh, lucky you Z . I'd love to watch both the new ones *and* the old ones again! It's been a long while since I saw it, but I do recall the episodes with Vir you mentioned .
...come to think of it...Michael Garibaldi did seem to have his hands in his pockets a lot, which is rather for head of security, .

Roy hadn't noticed it until I pointed it out, Jick
He thinks it's really that each character has definite flaws, which are shown from time to time - Garibaldi - alcohol, Susan whatsherface - stuff with her dad and fear of being exposed (did you see the one where she dreamed she was on the bridge naked? ), Doctor - stims, etc.

was that Ivanova (Susan) you were talking about, Z ?
The flaws were maybe what made the characters more believeable. I always thought that the writers did a great job making such outlandish looking aliens believeable

Yes, it was Ivanova, Jick !
Couldn't remember her surname when I posted. I thought she was great. I particularly remember the bit where the doctor (whose name I can't remember at the moment, although little will know) puts three officers on diets and Ivanova is told to eat more - her comment is 'I am the expanding Russian frontier!' and in the end the three officers swap plates, only for the doctor to catch them doing it and they have to swap back! Priceless!
Oh, his first name was Stephen - can't remember the surname.

Little will be very interested in this. Bruce Boxleitner is one of his heroes! I thought Bill Mumy was sweet as lennier. My goodness, he was in 'I dream of Jeannie'!

for the link tonsil! I'd been trying to remember certain characters for ages - memory's terrible, even for things I !
Yep, Z , I do remember that episode, now that you've reminded me, , it was really funny.
Bill Mumy was fab as Lennier .
I can quite understand little thinking Bruce Boxleitner is great, I do too!

When I saw him at first, I though that Bruce Boxleitner was all teeth and hair - he had one of the whitest smiles I know and impeccably groomed hair. In short, I thought he was a bit plastic. Took me quite a bit to get used to him as commander, but I did get to like him.

Yeah, although I really like Bruce Boxleitner, I did really like Sinclair, the original Captain of Bab 5. So, just like you Z it took me a while getting used to a new commander.
The episode that really sticks out in my memory, was the one where we finally got to see Kosh, the Vorlon Ambassador! The way they wrote it was really , in that each species saw him as their own version of an angel, therefore showing that the Vorlons had been around in their cultures for centuries!

Y'know, I have forgotten so much about that series.
It has been so long since I saw it that I've forgotten almost everything but the buzz about it.
There were a couple of my friends that discussed Bab 5 and DS9 with me to the exclusion of all else for a couple of years.
Our spousal units were thoroughly disgusted with us, but glad that we were not Cowboys or Horns fans...
If I ever get to see the Bab 5 series in sequence, it will probably be like watching it for the first time.
All I can remember is the bits about Ivanova and her father, played by Theodore Bikel, if I remember, and the thing about her being the first Jew mentioned in a space programme.
Oh, and when Claudia appeared in Playboy...

I liked that episode too. I think it's also one of Roy's favourites. Little saw it before me and couldn't keep his mouth shut (he's a bit better at keeping secrets these days), so I heard about it in advance.
I could sort of imagine Claudia/Ivanovna in Playboy after having seen her tastefully unclothed (no naughty bits) in the dream sequence. She appears to have a very nice figure.

Did you know that she is a singer?
She's had several albums out with a group that she led and at least one solo album.
