Well, my multi-malfunctioning-machine is about thirty pounds and the TV is about fifty.
shnooks told me yesterday her mum found a used computer to buy on time. $250.00 for a 2003 HP Pavilion.
The she asked me how much MS Word costs....
Hack! Cough! Splutter!

You mean it didn't come with MS Word pre-loaded? Megabucks!!
I've had a touch of 'flu over the past few days. Little >< had it at the beginning of the week and gave it to me. I've been all shaky and shivery and drippy! Grue! I've been off work today and yesterday and am hoping to be back tomorrow. Tomorrow is little 's last day at school and he's on holidays for the next two weeks, and I'll be taking time off to be with him.

I've been under the weather since christmas week. I actually had to call in sick on the 27th and 8th.
I'm still a bit stoned from my own sinuses.
I spent a couple afternoons with shnooks during her vacation.
It ends on monday.

Happy New Year, Tonsil!
I'm glad you're feeling better now. There's been a tummy bug virus over here that's been closing down loads of hospital wards as it's incredibly infectious, even after the symptoms have ceased, so people are being advised to stay off work for an extra couple of days. I've been off colour a bit while I was on holiday, but nowhere near as badly as most people. I imagine it will be interesting when the kids go back to school, as school seems to be a breeding ground for infection. Schools go back on Monday here too.
What did you do with Snooks?

Eat pizza, play with her new computer, walk to the mall.
She's supposedly on H2 now as well as logged in with Jwfs bunch of degenerates.

I have been dealing with the death of a close friend who died on Christmas eve but nobody told me until yesterday morning.
This evening I am dealing with the aftermath of a long tearful conversation with another acquaintance whom I wish to know better (whom I haven't mentioned before) who is attempting to recover from a recently concluded affair.

'She hasnt told it to me. Nor has she contacted my space. ' Ah, that's kids for you! She's being her own person.
I'm sorry to hear that your fried died. I gather it was unexpected? Must have been a shock. I'm sure your acquaintance was glad of a sympathetic ear.

He was a juvenile diabetic who hadn't been expected to live into his twenties. He had a heart attack at 50.

That's two and a half times his prognosis, which must have pleased his family. Was he reasonably healthy until the heart attack?

He had struggled with various other problems, apparently of a congenital nature, but he was enormously productive in his work life and his level of personal education.

I've gotten rid of my TV, I've stopped drinking beer for the time being and I'm trying to quit smoking again.
I am also strongly considering finding someplace else to work.
The idiot factor on both sides of the counter has increased recently.
Plus, with a new sense of my own mortality, and an ever-growing concept of how I might be wasting my time and energy in a deadend job...
yeah, well, at least my cats and the WR are a source of comfort, if fleeting.
Shnooks called Sunday night to tell me she had won first for her cookie recipe at the regional German club meet and her German folk dance troupe had placed second and they all get to go to the state level next month or so.
I still don't know if she has actually learned to speak the language.

This sounds very positive. I hope you're succeeding - and it does sound as if you'd benefit from a more satisfying job.
Good for Snooks. Let me know how she gets on in the competition.
I've been off-site for a while as I've been under the weather - still not feeling wonderful and I came home from work today to go to have a bath and go to bed.

In addition to the diverticulitis that the WR suffers from, it turns out from an ultrasound that she has a bag of fluid attached to one of her fallopian tubes.
Right now she is trying to recover from pneumonia and has come down with some sort of sinus infection again. One of her eyes was completely red last night from what she describes as an allergy.
I have quite drinking. I haven't had a beer in almost a month. I am also completely TV free. I got rid of it.
As a consequence of not drinking, I am also off coffee. It was part of the vicious cycle of having to drink to go to sleep and drink coffee to wake up.

That's really great, Tonsil. I imagine you feel a whole lot better. The WR sounds not to be in good shape, though. Pneumonia is pretty serious.
Part of one of my filling came out a couple of days ago (again). I've booked another appointment with the dentist for Wednesday. I'm hoping it's not going to be too expensive, although I am looking forward to my jaw not aching!

Uvula just got out of the hospital after four days. She apparently had ketoacidosis for real this time.
Shnooks is getting over some sort of flu that has been going around and around. She got a five days off note from the doctor on Thursday.
I survived a robbery attempt at the store on Sunday morning. The fellow was enthusiastic but inept.

'I survived a robbery attempt at the store on Sunday morning. The fellow was enthusiastic but inept. ' Did you have to be brave?
I looked up the death certificate for my brother on one of these ancestry/genealogy sites (you can't actually see the certificate, but you can look up the reference details to send away from it on-line) - and would you believe it - they spelled his surname wrong! *words fail*

"Did you have to be brave?"
Um. No. I did a lot of giggling, though.
I'm a kind of a big guy, 6 foot, two inches in length and about 230 lbs. I have a rather thick neck. My hair is shoulder length and I have half a beard, with it trimmed in the cheek areas and a fuller mustache.
this guy was shorter than I and he thought that putting me in a face to face choke hold and yelling at me like a drill sergeant would produce some result beneficial to him. Didn't happen.
Oh, and he tried it again a night later at another store. Got even less from them.
According to a local yokel, he was apprehended yesterday.
