Ah, here I am. There you were. I haven't gotten into the little images, yet. They're almost against my religion. I draw, you see.
Well, I was here. You can tell because your cushions have been rearranged and your autographed photo of King Farouk has had it's mustache erased.

The little images I like, except that there isn't one for .
King Faroukh eh? Well the most prominent picture on the wall here is the mask of the sun, drawn at Saturday club by my six year old son (partly) and myself (mostly) incorporating bits of my blood colouring the cheeks where I cut my fingers on the scissors because they were sharp. Who says adults should always handle the scissors?

At least you weren't running with them.
The King Faroukh reference is from an old Stan Freberg single.

No, I was sitting quietly with him, not sure how my finger got cut and doing the dripping blood thing - most embarrassing, so I decided to make the best of it. The sun now has rather brown cheeks.
Didn't know the Stan Freburg quote, but the heading reminded me of 'Poisoning pigeons in the park' - All the world seems in tune on a June afternoon, when you're poisoning pigeons in the park ...'.

Ah, yes, Tom Lehrer, America's closest thing to Flanders and Swann.
The Freberg thing comes from a parody of an Eartha Kitt song from about 1954, a french thing, and during the fade the singer in the parody is muttering about what he would like if he could have anything, including 'a mink sweatshirt, a war-surplus army raft, autographed picture of King Fa-roukh!'
I'm listening to 10cc's 'Dreadlock Holiday' right now.
I'm always finding new bruises and cuts. More than once, somebody has noticed blood on my shirt or pants and I have had to look to find the wound.

How wierd, I was looking at Just zis Guy's personal space and clicked on the link to Flanders and Swann - it didn't work and I thought it was a pity. I think I taught my little 'un 'Pee Po Belly Bum Drawers' when he was two or three.
Serendipity.
10cc - there's memories!

I can't live without 'em. Got 'The Original Soundtrack', too.
I had a friend who had most of the Flanders and Swann albums and all of the Monty Python.
But I used to have a copy of 'Rutland Weekend Television'!
I taught my daughter the Who's 'Squeezebox' when she was six.

At work today, I found myself singing 'Ma's out, pa's out, let's talk rude, P**,P*, Belly, B**, Drawers' and 'All the world seems in tune on a June afternoon when you're .....'. Not thought about them in ages. I've got all the Flanders and Swann stuff both on vinyl and CD.
I haven't got either Monty Python or RWT, but I can remember them well (when two or three are gathered together they will recite the Parrot Sketch!).
I suspect my son has the largest collection of orally transmitted children's song in his school. I sing him the stuff my mum sang me as well as the stuff I learned later. When he was little (still a baby really) and at nursery the only thing that would quiet him down was the 'Teddy Bears Picnic'. No-one else knew it as it was so old fashioned, so I wrote them the words and they put it up on the wall. Now, of course, it's more or less made a come-back.
Kids are amazing. After mine was trying to kick me when he was tired (no shoes, so it wasn't going to hurt) and he hurt his foot against a kitchen base unit, we had a conversation about karma and he thought about it. Then he wondered whether God had controlled his foot, then told me he was God's toy and that all humans were God's toys. The following morning oon the way to school, he told me he thought all humans were also the devil's toys. He's only just six!

Yes, well, my daughter became very incensed when nobody would acknowledge the wisdom of her statement that twins could not be identical unless they had the same name. I believe she was six.

Tell her I said 'Hi!'. If she's anything like mine, she's never wrong and *full* of confidence. Mine's waiting for his breakfast at present.

It's 2:00 AM here, which means I won't be hearing the trombone for another six hours!

Maybe tell her when she's awake? Mine's now been asleep over an hour.
You can tell I'm not yet used to conversing with people from different time zones.
I'm wondering what happened to that Flanders and Swann entry. Now I want to read it and I can't! Pooh!

Was that one of Just zis Guy's entries?
There might have been IMHO (in my head only) a copyright problem with the lyric quotes.

Sort of. It was a link in one of his entries (it may have been his home page), but apparently he didn't write it.
I gather it was written before h2g2 came to the BBC. He said that as he didn't write it, he can't resuscitate it. Pity! I think the guide needs an entry on them. I'm not sure I know enough - do you?

I have read about them and heard them. I suppose I can take a stab at it, but it will have to be one of those beef flank in piranha infested waters things. Everybody and their dog will crawl on board.
And having a B****y Yank do it might inflame a few sinuses.
I'll talk to Just Zis Guy and see what he can offer.
I'll log off in a minute and see what I can find online. A trip to the library might not hurt, either.
