h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Aaaaaaaaaaaargh! I spent a good long time (with interruptions) writing what turned out to be an introduction to the paper clan, with h2g2 links and everything, and when I posted, it got eaten No, of *course* I didn't write it in a text editor file thingy first.

I don't have the heart to reproduce it now. Maybe tomorrow.

I'll be sure to type it (and any other long posts) all offline first--that should guarantee that nothing happens

Sometimes, when nothing happens it takes a veyr long time and thousands of posts for the nothing to happen. I remember a journal by Red Dog that was like that. he begged eveyrone tolet the thread die a natural death. Eventually it did, but not because he asked it to do so.

'Twasn't in Brunel--it was Pliny. And I was being "helped" by a 3-year-old, so it may have been at this end. I just went into Brunel to fetch the link for fb I'm going to rotate the fb links through the skins--so long as I include plain, it'll come out even.
