Cuthbert was one of England's greatest saints and since the end of the 19th century a much underused forename.

Can't believe you're picking names already!

What if he doesn't look like a Jonathan when he pops out?

We had a long list of about 20 girls and 20 boys names when I went into labour - whittled it down through all the puffing and panting and made the final selection when we could see what he looked like. Will probably do the same again this time so I suppose I ought to start a list soonish, but it still feel too early to even contemplate!

Frank Zappa named his son "Dweezil," but I'm not going to expect you to do likewise. smiley - biggrin

Hey, that's not fair. Is Dweezil much different than Dwayne or Dwight? As for Moon Unit, very cool to be named in honor of lunar/space exploration. Plus it sure hasn't hurt either of their careers any.

I know a Forest, named after the forest, a Sierra, named for the mountain range, a Blaze, so named because his mom thought him so bright. By the way, he is bright, and a great guy.

It's all good.

Well, the middle name for a boy has been pretty much set for over 10 years now (my dad passed away almost 11 years ago) so it's really just a matter of finding something that goes well with it. Plus, I never said it was set yetsmiley - winkeye When we were waiting for PaperBaby, we had 5-6 boy's names, and then when I was about 7 months along, we figured we should think of at least 1 girl's namesmiley - laugh

We had quite a nice collection of names, my ex and I. And come the hour my girl was born ... Something that neither of us had given any thought to. Surprises happen, eh?

And as to a comment earlier, is there really a definitive 'look' of a Bill or Jane? I think the name becomes associated with the nature of the person wearing it.

Paul Edmund Pawloski... P. E. P. smiley - erm no... Which is too bad, because I *do* like the name "Paul"--just doesn't go well with our last name.

Rev Nick, we had two names left on our list for boys, Toby and Rowan. He *definitely* didn't look like a Rowan and *really* looked like a Toby, so yes they can have a certain look smiley - tongueout

Hamlet faced a similar dilemma when he was trying to name his fear: Toby or not Toby.
