The airfair thing is supply and demand. i.e. they know they can charge extortionate prices and people will still buy the tickets.

How odd; my connection went down totally to the outside world for nearly three hours 
I was at a loss for what to do.... I was just* about* to do my grocery shop and finally finish that off, when the web page kind of crashed at the secure server doobry thinngy whatsit give over your card details stage.... then it all went scilent! and then just as suddenly I am back on... 
well I'm glad about that, now all I have to do is do the grocery shopping again
