Leave a message after the bleeeeeep!

I'm off for a couple of days,

Might be online for a short while on Thursday or Friday, then again on Monday but after that I'm off spending a week working in a client's offices, and I somehow think the client may object if he sees me playing on H2G2 - especially seeing how much I'm costing him smiley - laugh

If you need to reach me leave a note on my personal space (If you leave it in an existing conversation I'll never see it - a full weeks backlog of all the conversations I seem to be subscribed to will take me at least a month to get through...)

Ok, I've had enough of all this, I'm going...

... on holiday for a couple of days (had you worried there for a minute didn't I? smiley - laugh

I won't be around until next Thursday, so if you really want to get in touch with me start a new conversation on my personnal space. looking at the number of conversations I seem to be subscribed to I'll never get the chance to read all the backlog when I get back.

* wonders whether his hotmail box is going to explode under the pressure of a weeks messages from the aces, scouts and subs e-groups *

Have fun all
smiley - cheers

The trials and tribulations of having a bi-lingual child

Ok, most parents have run across the problem of their children becoming selectively deaf when they don't want to hear something (Like "Go to bed!") My three year old has developped an extension of this...
When I tell him off for doing something naughty he immediately comes back with the answer "Mais, moi, je suis Français!"

The trouble is, when he's with his mother, he does exactly the opposite "It's not my fault, I'm English!"
(His mother is French)

Added to that, he's driving his mother to distraction by trying to teach her "twinkle twinkle little star" in English, unfortunately, as he only ever remembers "Twinkle twinkle star", which he can quite happily sing away to himself for hours on end, mum's becoming a little miffed smiley - biggrin

Also, his nursery school teacher tells me that whenever he wants to tell one of the other kids at school to do something, ie. give an order, he automatically switches to English... I guess that either means that I'm a bossy father or alternatively, that I'm doing my job right smiley - laugh
