Leg o the Mallard
Posted Jan 27, 2005
I went to see Waterson: Carthy this week.
As the blub said:
"Waterson: Carthy
The Piping Centre, Glasgow, 25 January
A REAL family get-together as the much-feted English folk performers, Norma Waterson and husband Martin Carthy, are joined by daughter Eliza Carthy and son- in-law Saul Rose for a special Celtic Connections show"
I loved it, I had heard of them as a clan, so to speak, but had not really heard their music before.
It was great, made me feel quite homesick, even if they are only based half way there
I particularly liked the song entitled "Leg o' the Mallard" all about eating Duck!

H2g2 as I Ching
Posted Jan 6, 2005
I decided to use the Infinite Improbability Drive as a sort of I-Ching. (my career is still giving me trouble)
I got “Massage“, “Cairo, Egypt” and "The Florin & Firkin, Utrecht, The Netherlands"
Not quite sure what to make of that!

Bleeping karaoke!
Posted Dec 9, 2004
The woman in the office, who complains if the radio is audible, has decided to test out THREE karaoke machines next to my desk!
I have made some pointed and (as is my way) particularly unsubtle comments, but she has so far failed to get the point.
It’s not like she can even sing.

Continued Emplyment
Posted Oct 20, 2004
Just been offered a year’s extension to the six-month contact I am on at the moment.
It’s not an exciting job, or well paid, but its good hours, a useful cause, and I feel that I am making a difference, and the folk are good too. So all in all not too bad
At least I know I have work past the beginning of December now.
It means that I shall be putting the brewery idea on hold for a bit, but to be honest, a bit more paid employment will not hurt for a while.

Sneaking Back
Posted Jun 18, 2004
I don't know if life will get any simpler, and if I will get any time spare to spend her, but I do miss the place
