Leg o the Mallard

I went to see Waterson: Carthy this week.
As the blub said:
"Waterson: Carthy
The Piping Centre, Glasgow, 25 January
A REAL family get-together as the much-feted English folk performers, Norma Waterson and husband Martin Carthy, are joined by daughter Eliza Carthy and son- in-law Saul Rose for a special Celtic Connections show"
I loved it, I had heard of them as a clan, so to speak, but had not really heard their music before.
It was great, made me feel quite homesick, even if they are only based half way there
I particularly liked the song entitled "Leg o' the Mallard" all about eating Duck!

It was fun, wasn't it. Sadly I can't find the words on the web though, to remind me of the odd Somerset ones.

I've been taken to see Mr Carthy by MC and think that I'd probably like to see a Waterson:Carthy gig. Good that you both had a good time there

Well, yes, she has, but she isn't making this up. We really did see Waterson Carthy and they really did do a song about eating th eNibbens of a Mallard.

they sung about eating all of the mallard, including the bill and the nibbins (toenails) despite ducks not having toenails!
They all ended up in his tummy, for which they had another slang word, but I can't remember it.
Key: Complain about this post
