See ya in game #98 as we march onward to our centennial quiz!!!
Hej elwood!
Bagpuss Posted Feb 13, 2002
Hey, a new quiz hiding here. Unfortunately I don't know the answer, but I'll take a guess. Eddie Izzard?
Hej elwood!
elwood Posted Feb 13, 2002
Nope! Welcome I've seen you about BPuss! Keep trying the clue changes if no one gets it! But Ottox usually gets it first.
But since you're new...
obvious hint warning
Think more 80's world leader importance, not that Mr. Izzard wasn't!

::: waves at Bagpuss :::
That one took me a minute, but didn't George Bush call Barbara mommy?
Hej elwood!
Shea the Sarcastic Posted Feb 14, 2002
I don't mean Dubya, who would obviously call Barbara mommy ... I mean his dad ...
Hej elwood!
Bagpuss Posted Feb 14, 2002
I fail to see what it has to do with how he refers to his Mrs, but Bush Snr seems a likely candidate for having said this. Still, nowt ventured, nowt got, so I'll try Ronald Reagan.
Thanks for the clue, Elwood, it's just a shame I didn't hang around long enough to see it before Shea.
Hej elwood!
elwood Posted Feb 14, 2002
But you are correct and she is not!
Woohoo your first QuoteQuiz point!!!
Hej elwood!
Bagpuss Posted Feb 14, 2002
Yay ! I'd probably have gone for Bush if I'd been first, so thanks Shea. Does that mean there's a new question?
Hej elwood!
Bagpuss Posted Feb 14, 2002
Yes, there is.
"... is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools."
Unfortunately there's no points for completing the quotation, so I'll have to figure out who said it.
Erm.
It wasn't Douglas Adams was it? Seems a bit obvious for the h2g2 site, but what the heck.
Hej elwood!
elwood Posted Feb 14, 2002
It is!
And it was!
On purpose. (honoring him with the 99th quote)
Whenever the quote is too long for the system to handle in the top bar, I have to complete it in the line below. So that's a long way of saying no bonus points for you completing the quote.
Though bonus points are regularly handed out for anything the judges find pleases them. Such as ,
,
(don't ask)...just pop by the QuoteQuiz standings thread at the bottom of my page and meet the judges in one of the early posts.
If your interested there is a Rock Music Tourament going on at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A683886
We are about to begin voting on the final eight songs. Voted down from 64! Everyone will be able to vote on each of the last 4 match-ups. Take a look.

Judge #4: Will Grabbitol
Hej elwood!
elwood Posted Feb 15, 2002
Well Judge #4 is kind of a curmudgeon so he might dock you that point!
Hey folks the Centennial QuoteQuiz is up!
Congratulations and thank you to all the contestants who have made this game what it's become today!
*what exactly is it?*
Hej elwood!
Bagpuss Posted Feb 15, 2002
I don't think I recognise this one. Given the facts that it sounds a bit like him and he's already been in a few times, I reckons Groucho Marx.
Hej elwood!
Bagpuss Posted Feb 15, 2002
Hum, well it seems like a line from that sort of bizarre film. Um... Woody Allen?
Hej elwood!
elwood Posted Feb 15, 2002
Sorry! *hints forthcoming tomorrow!*
(you were closer the first guess)Oops! That just slipped out!
