The Dragonlady~There are no ugly women in the world, only neglected ones! Posted Nov 14, 2002
I might at that
But first, I would have to shave my head bald, get about thirty tattoos, and resurrect punk clothing. I would walk proudly down the street, smile sweetly, and wave at anyone who gave me a sideways glance
It's the shock value, you know.....

Oh, that sounds like fun. I might have to try something like that, too. First, though, I think I'll wait for the million and one years to pass before I decide. For all I know, in a million and one years, everyone else might already be wearing punk clothing with shaved heads and thirty tattoos. I wouldn't want to look like a copycat, after all. So, in that case, I might wear a suit and tie or something.

Mikey is a bit, shall we say, eccentric!?!
He wowed an entire audience in grade two by figuring square roots given to him by various people, up to the hundreds of thousands, and got all of the correct answers. It was the school talent show, and that was his talent.
What can I say? My kids are special!

Wow, that's pretty impressive. I'm not even sure I knew what a square root was, when I was in grade two. If asked about it, I'd probably have said something like, "Square roots? Why can't it just have round roots like all of the other trees?"

Mikey's a good kid. He loves science, math, and taking VCR's apart to see how they work. When he was two, we went through three VCR's because of it.
Now he is constantly coming up with new languages he invents himself, is proficient in pig-latin, drives his teacher mad with questions a university prof would have difficulty answering, and gets sullen if not challenged enough.
(To think "I" used to belong to a "Mensa"-type group?!?)

Taking stuff apart is always fun. Putting it back together again, though, can be a bit of a hassle. I've never attempted to create a new language. I have a hard enough time making myself understood in this one...Then again, maybe that's my problem.

Mikey successfully put together the final VCR. I think his Dad still owns it, and uses it.
Right now Mikey's interests are in Medevil Weaponry. He is trying to constantly make models of swords, etc., and wants to make his own coat-of-arms, and sheild.
He is DEFINITELY an interesting kid!

Ooh...Impressive. The medie["I" before "E," except after "C..." Yes, I think that's right]val weapons stuff reminds me of the book I've just been reading ("Timeline" by Michae[Erm..."A" before "E," I think...]l Chrichton, if your curious). I suppose it's all part of the fundamentaly interconnectedness of all things (See, I've just finished re-reading the Dirk Gently books, too).

"Timeline" is a GREAT book
I got Mikey a catalogue of weapons from the internet, and he is always drooling over the swords and shields.
I think it's time for me to buy another sword.....
I used to have a beautiful one, but my idiot father stole it. (The guy is quite the piece of work.) It was over 100 years old, with an engraved blade, and a brass filligree hilt and sheath.....
I happen to love swords, too.

about the double posting. Something went wrong, and I didn't think it posted the first time, so I hit "post message" again.

No problem. The post was so good, I wanted to read it twice, anyway. Unfortunately, I've never owned a sword (unless you count some plastic ones when I was little). I'd like to have a light saber. I think I could make good use of one of those.

The US Marines have a ceremonial saber that is engraved on the blade. It's rather pretty (not to mention functional).

Oh...Pretty and functional, hmm? That sounds useful.
What's this, though? "I eat policemen for breakfast!" Isn't there a law against that?

Arthbard Posted Dec 13, 2002
Ah, yes, well...I suppose if the policeman in question doesn't mind being eaten for breakfast, then society as a whole hasn't the right to tell him that it's wrong for him to be treated like so many pancakes and waffles. Why, if we lived in a world where everyone ate everyone else for breakfast, everyone would have a much healthier start to their day...Or half of them. The other half would be eaten.
