cupati Posted Apr 24, 2006
Oh flippin squee DT is squeeworthy.
But I know the next ep will have me behind the sofa, I've never been scared by it before though, but it's too close to Demon Headmaster for me.... [And no, I didn't see the Empty Child, which everyone tells me is most scary]...

Perhaps you should buy the DVD and watch it?
I've noticed that Stephen Moffet loves to use masks, don't blame him. They are really scarey..like those clockwork things! Wow that episode was great, toneally it felt diffrent.

Is it me, or could compatible be the new bad wolf?

I don't understand what you mean..

I've heard the term compatible twice so far, it may be a running theme that becomes relevant later.
However, both times it was used was in the sense of humans becoming parts for robots, so perhaps both writers thought it was the right term to use independantly.
I'd just like it seen to be posted here, just in case it does turn out to be relevant.

The constant reference to Torchwood is the 'Bad Wolf' theme for the second season, and that is what official "Doctor Who" websites such as Outpost Gallifrey are saying. The word 'compatible' cropping up in two episodes featuring mechanical beings is just pure coincidence. And strictly speaking, the Cybermen are not robots, they are cyborgs as they are half-human, half-mechanical, with human parts mixed in with the cybernetic parts. A robot is purely mechanical, which the Cybermen are not (which is why they're called 'Cybermen'!).

Cyberhuman, did you post that before or after saturday's ep? Because the concept of compatibility came up again. I know both authors could have come from a similar standpoint to use it, and then the Doctor used it because the cybermen did, but if it turns up again, you heard it here second! [not first, because it was on the show first]
If only I had a , I could see where this idea was going...

The 'Bad Wolf' theme being the word 'Torchwood' in the second season has been common knowledge amongst "Doctor Who" fans for a couple of months now! Russell T. Davies confirmed it in an interview before the second season even started!

I still think there's more to Compatability than meets the eye, I'm not saying that Torchwood isn't there too... 's off

I'm wondering if theres more too this religous refrences than meets the eye? Twice, that i can recall, the Doctors been likend too something extremly powerfull - 'lonely god, lonely angel' and is becomeing increaseingly arogent. Plus the final episode is called 'doomsday'. I'mn going mad arnt i?

nah, i think you may have a point. tv writers seem to have a knack for incorporating lots of not-so-subtle themes within their works that is supposed to lead up to something big in the series finale. Dr who is renowned for it.
