I'm Back
Posted May 26, 2007
Well, I'm back from Florida, it was pretty awesome. Here is a list of some of the things I did all week:
Hugged a giant penguin
Went to the beach three times
Got ill for a day or so
Got a sore throat
Stubbed my toe
Attended 'Jaws: The Musical'
Ate deep-fried cheesecake
Attended 'Bat Boy: The Musical'
Watched a lot of 'The Brak Show' and 'The Office' (American version)
Stayed up late into the night watching DVDs, along with doing the same early in the morning
Ate three snow cones
Had tea, quiche, scones, clotted cream and bread pudding with custard
Went to Kennedy Space Center
At KSC there is also wildlife everywhere. I briefly saw an alligator, along with lots of birds, and wild hogs
Other than that we saw lots of lizards, pelicans, seagulls and a decomposing rattlesnake
Saw 'Spiderman 3' and 'Hot Fuzz'
Played my brother's drum set.
Bought my brother a Spiderman jack-in-the-box.
Once I get my pictures developed I will scan them and post them on Yahoo.

Bye
Posted May 17, 2007
Tomorrow morning I'm flying to Florida to visit my brother and sister. They bought me plane tickets last month for my birthday. My brother lives near Orlando and my sister and her boyfriend are staying with him while they are performing their musical about calculus at the Orlando Fringe Festival. So I'll be away from h2g2 from the 18th to 26th.

Taco Bell Canon in D Major
Posted May 3, 2007
I mean, Pachelbel Canon. It's funny that it bears such a resemblance to the name of a restaurant. Anyway, that's what I'm learning on piano now. It's been a while since I've done anything classical. Next week I'm switching to guitar lessons, I've been getting slightly bored with piano, so I have been messing around with my dad's guitar lately and I thought I'd have another try at lessons, though I'm not sure how long it will last. I took guitar lessons when I was seven and hated it. I quit after a few months and then promptly forgot everything I learned, so what I can do now I taught myself. (My piano teacher now is the same person I took guitar with, so I don't even need to switch teachers.) I'm also in a recital next week, playing 'Bohemian Rhapsody' on the piano.
Something funny is that I originally played guitar left-handed because I'm half left-handed. For some reason I'm magically converted to right-hand guitar now, it's weird. It might have something to do with my ukulele, making me gradually get used to the other way.
Another musical note (pun not intended, I didn't realise till now), last night I figured out how to play 'Baba O'Reilly' on the accordion.
I'm flying to Florida in two weeks to visit my older brother, sister and sister's boyfriend. No parents. That means we can stay up all night and eat candy.

Wikipedia article
Posted Apr 30, 2007
There have only been a few occasions when I found something screwy with a Wikipedia article, but this is the worst I've ever seen. Here's a few excerpts from an article about pigs:
"Pigs are a space species from planet Zork who were frozen in carbonite by Sour Patch Kids along with Han Solo and Chuckie Cheese. They came here on the sacred vessels The Ninja, the Pina-Colada, the Slave I, and the Heidy-Ho III. Their diet consists of bats, rythm gutarists, a yellow substance called "cheez" and, of course, Al Gore."
"Pigs mainly spend their free time throwing rolls at people, robbing 7-11s, rolling in steak sauce, and voting for Sanjaya. Most pigs live in their mother's basements and listening to Metallica backwards and playing dungeons and dragons."
"See Also: Nose picking, The Doors, Mr. T, and, of course, Al Gore."

Footnotes
Posted Apr 30, 2007
I just discovered the coolest thing ever about footnotes on h2g2. First of all, I always totally hated reading them, you know, 'cause I'd have to scroll down to the bottom, then back again, and lose my place in the Entry. A while back I figured out that I can just click on them and it would automatically pop down the bottom, and even better, you click again and it takes you back exactly to the place you stopped. Well, yesterday I found out that if you just set the arrow on the little blue number, a little thing would appear right there with the footnote, so you don't have to go down to the bottom at all!!
Yes, I've been so bored lately that this sort of thing excites me.
