Ah well,
In 5 hrs I get on a train and start another job.
In the 3 weeks or so since my last period of servitude ended, I've spent quite a lot of time here on Hootoo. I've had some right good arguments and some hilarious conversations. I've had to confront my own beliefs on a few occasions and, once or twice, re-assessed my stance on certain topics.
But now that RL is stepping back in, I will have less time to muck about online. I'm not deserting completely of course, but I won't be able to get into the heated debates as much.
Never mind.

Just got a call offering me a job 
Higher Basic Salary, Higher Bonuses, Better Car.
Start in 10 days.

Consequences

Surprise, surprise, I got the boot. Quite sanguine about it though. It feels like a weight off my shoulders. Got a claim in for Racial Discrimination and Constructive Dismissal.
I'm not claiming Dole money, disagree with it and they always make it as humiliating an experience as possible.
Got an interview on the 28th in Newcastle. See what happens there.

Not a good day

First journal entry, inspired by a pretty bad day.
I'm a salesman working for a craft company. Since I started 8 months ago, nearly half the sales bods have been sacked or quit and I'm on my 4th Sales Manager. Unfortunately, this guy is so far up his own *ss, he's impossible to work with. He knows nothing about man-management.
Today he phoned me up and ranted & screamed at me about an innocuous e-mail I sent the office. He was so loud, everyone in the room was staring. I couldn't get a word in. Finally, I snapped and told him to "Shut Up". Oops.
I now await my P45.
