The aching foot saga
ITIWBS Posted Oct 2, 2015
Exercises that can help (I'm not trying to be funny, this does really help) prevent recurrence, wiggling one's toes, alternately clenching and unclenching them, drumming on the footboard of the bed or 'making bread' with the toes all promote good circulation and help to break up uric acid crystals, accelerating transport of the uric acid away from the toes and discourages formstion of new uric acid crystals.
Toe and foot exercises also help if your feet are merely cold.
The point that toes lose heat more quickly than any other part of the anatomy is part of the reason the uric acid crystalizes there more readily than any other part of the body.
Comfortably hot water soaks can also help.

Getting it to go away completely is harder than I imagined.

After two relapses, I am hopeful that my foot is all better now. ITYIWBS had a useful suggestion: that I wiggle my toes. That seems to be a good idea.
