The night I bought three pianos (a dream)

In my waking hours, I know there's no room in my house for a piano. But in the dream I had, several different stores were selling beautiful baby grand pianos at unbelievably low prices. I couldn't resist buying a piano at the first store that was having a sale. Then I came across a second store with an even cheaper (but still excellent) piano, and bought one there as well. This happened one more time, and I figured I fnally had enough pianos. Maybe I was hoping to gather some friends and perform the Bach concerto for three pianos?

Please keep one of these baby grand pianos for me Paul - getting rid of my old piano was the craziest thing I ever did. It's a shame they take up so much space and are so expensive to move from one place to another.

Hi Paul,

What awonderful dream¬`, Three grand pianos.

I am really surpsied that you did not think of turning one of the rooms in your house into a music room.

What joy that is.!!

I know that my mother who was a violiniwst who had studied at the Paris Conservatoire, had a music room in one of our homes. Every Wednesday afternoon friends used to come and the door would be locked from the inside (strange that!) and I used to sit outside the door listening to the most wonderful chamber music.

What amarvellous memory.

nest time you dream that, send one to Lazenby and one to me please. !!

have a marvellous weekend.

Christiane.

nice dream, paul smiley - ok

i have actually been thinking of buying a keyboard myself. there is no room for a piano, but some of the keyboards i have tried are not really bad. my oldest sister has one that sound almost yet not entirely like a proper piano

maybe i could even learn to use it properly if i had one like that

It's true that the more recent ones have a very good sound, but they don't *feel* at all like a piano to me, when you are playing them. I suppose they are a good things in their own way, but you can't relate to a keyboard in the same way as a piano.

I live in a mobile home, and only have 600 square feet of floor space. Plus, as I might have mentioned to Lanzababy, I have a great deal of china smiley - winkeye. There's room for my keyboard, which can be stored vertically. I might be able to squeeze in an electronic piano, if it can be folded when not in use. An acoustic piano would be too much. smiley - sadface

Plus, I'm a Taurus [i.e., a bull], and I'm right over an active fault. (I'm just kidding about the fault, but I really am a Taurus smiley - winkeye)

Only if Paul moves - bone china is far stronger than pottery. It contains real bones you see.

Sometimes bone china plates are so thin that they can break. That happened with a beautiful white dinner plate that broke while I was washing it. smiley - sadface

China can enhance any table, but that's more than you can say for Vikings. smiley - winkeye

how sad - can you get a replacement? Often the china will fracture if there is a sudden change in temperature, or if the temperature isn't constant across the whole piece. You should never pour boiling water into very old, fragile china cups for this reason, nor take out hot plates from the oven and place them on a cold surface, as I'm sure you know. They do withstand knocks better than earthenware though.

It was freak occurrence. The broken plate was from a service for four, so there are three others I can still use.
