A message from Light:
Her PC is having commitment problems at the moment, so she won't be here to play this weekend... Well, that's her story anyway

Commitment problems?
You mean it looks blue and reacts as fast as an icecube in a gletcher?

... yes she can!
Surprise!
Hello there everyone.
Thank you GD for passing on the message
Last Sunday my comuter decided - as he said to go on strike. Much pleading (and then swearing) did not solve it.
On getting back tonight I thought I would have one more try and threatened it with a trip to the office for the men with screwdrivers and large hammers seemed to do the trick - with the help of some guidance from them on what to do!
So how is everyone?

Gosho! Sorry I missed you too. I may well be here on and off on Saturday so hopefullyw e can catch up then
I will be procrastinating over getting the house ready for visitors tomorrow - three people staying so need to clean and tidy every room - no small task when you have been using the house as a kind of stop over point for months! That an the fact I am not the tidiest of people
I will also have to go to the shops etc too - far to much to do for a Saturday so I am bound to spend ages here!
Now then - this may amuse some of you ... The social committee where I work are arranging a Quiz Night - not in itself all that amusing I hear you say. Well guess who they want to be the Quizmaster! Yep me! They dont know about my virtual exploits but is this a case of real life immitating virtual life?

I dont think so - it would be a shame to even fro a while stop the quiz! I did ask if I had to set the questions but they have someone else doing that - someone who sets pub quizes as a business. Now there is a job that would be fun!
I have not had a chance to read all the link b'log - how is it going?

Maybe you could lead off with that 'any' key
question, Light.
Anyway, glad to hear that your computer decided
to surrender rather than fleeing to Baghdad or
Buenos Aires.

I *so* want a proper fry up all of a sudden Once I decided that I wasn't going to drive on Saturdays any more, I'd make a nice big breakfast for myself each Saturday morning - eggs, bacon, sausage, tomatoes, mushers, bubble, beans, fried slice... I want one of those
I can't get proper bangers or bacon here, and Heinz beans are something like a pound a tin
::SIGH::

I could really use a cup of just now
What do you understand by 'over the yardarm'? I used to think it meant that the sun had gone down far enough that it gone from above to below the yardarm...whatever that is, like a high jumper going over the bar and behind it. In other words, it's around sunset. But then a friend said that as far as she was concerned, it meant that the sun was *above* the yardarm, ie, much earlier in the day. I think my explanation means that it's cocktail time, or happy hour, whereas my friend's is much more inclined towards lunchtime.
And what on earth is a yardarm anyway?

I may well be wring but I thought it was part of a boats rigging - the bit that goes along the bottom of the sail. Thus I thought over the yardarm meant sunk over it so it was cocktail time ...
