Life in the Land that is PeskieMinx
Moved by the death of a fantastic author and inspirational chap, a PeskieMinx finds her way into a world far beyond the reaches of reality, yet deeply embedded in truth.Very happy to do so too, looking forward to all I can learn and maybe giving a little back.
It's not all work, work, work... except sometimes
PeskieMinx handed in her notice last week and has precisely one month to work at an online news site for IT professionals (yawn, yawn ).She's an editor (sub, but hates that in her title for the connotations of sub standard, sub zero, sub sub, below par) and when she grows up she wants to be a writer. She jots a lot, but generally finds no particular outlet for her random musings, which, alas, sit idle in her harddrive.
Enter the Guide... which will no doubt benefit from/bemoan the many midnight ponderings to follow. Fantastic find, albeit encountered due to exceptionally sad circumstances. Peskie would also take this moment to add an aside, www.getoutthere.bt.com.
So she has tendered her notice and is to unleash herself upon an ill-prepared hoard of publications as a freelancer. Already the contracts are flooding her inbox (a blatant exageration she allows herself for the good of morale )
The nine-to-five is currently coupled with irregular extra hours she's struggling with; Sundays at a well-esteemed national paper and all spare hours with a fascinating manuscript for an academic publisher. She is very busy, her parents very proud, and looks forward to the day, coming soon, when the whole daily grind is replaced with the ad hoc to which she is more naturally suited.
Discovery of the Guide will radically dent her concentration, however, and PeskieMinx is hoping that in the next month she can keep herself away for long enough to edit the words for the nation...
If only she could learn this format language a little quicker...
If only people would not be so entertaining...
If only the knowledge of Knowledge could have been postponed...
PeskieMinx may have stood a chance of meeting her deadlines.
Peskie, it's time to...
Exit the Guide
Cheers for the beers
Hugs for the drugs
See you again in the Land that is PeskieMinx

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
