Mum's Birthday
Posted Apr 9, 2002
Mum was 60 last saturday. We had a surprise party for her, and she had a great time. It was good see the results of the plotting come together. Lots of friends came to give her a great time. We had to tell some big fibs though, to keep everything secret, but, I think we're forgiven. It's odd to think that Mum is 60. She's not really seemed very old to me (apart from when I was a teenager, when of course, all parents were ancient!). Then again, she married and had children relatively young. She's certainly making up for those years now! Good on her. Here's to you Mum! Many more happy birthdays to you, may you never feel old!
Oddly, there is a strange connection between my Mum and My birthdays this year... Princess Margaret died on mine, and the The Queen Mother died on Mum's. It's Dad's birthday next...... eek!

Life is .......
Posted Mar 26, 2002
Here I sit broken hearted..... No, not really. Life is strange at the moment. It's not the contact lenses I'm trying out (they're not bad actually). After February with it's twice average rainfall, my birthday, and Soulmate marrying his beloved (no that doesn't make sense I know!), I feel a bit ... well.... bleagggghhhhhh! Soulmate and I are still chatting away to each other electronically (he's working away at the moment) as always. It's not romantic at all, it's friendly. We just get on very well, and understand each other well. I long for a relationship like that with a partner. S'not fair. Will I ever meet a nice Guy like that who is for me?
On the plus side, I'm trying contact lenses, and I have to say, it's nice to have my face back, and to see the world without a frame around it.
One day when all my troubles are over.......

Good Bye Spike....
Posted Feb 28, 2002
Good bye Spike Milligan,
It'll be a while before we hear you again.
That's all Goons together again!
Now, they've got the Goon Show in Heaven!
(with apologies to S. Milligan)
Farewell Spike, it wasn't just the Goons that you made me laugh with. Through Q, the books and all the other stuff, even if I didn't always get all of it, you made me laugh. The only person I know who could make war experiences funny. It's a sad loss, but, lots of happy memories for everyone. Non sequitor ad nauseam spon Moriarty!

We've had loads of rain - Official!
Posted Feb 19, 2002
No wonder I thought it had been raining a lot. Apparently, there have been 40 consecutive days of rain up here! So, it's OK to feel fed up with the weather after all. A useless fact that was!
